Job Description
Summary/objective
The Staff Accountant will work with the Controller and Finance Team to prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This position will assist the department with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, booking journal entries, period close, report preparation, tax returns and filings, and other accounting-related matters. With operations in agriculture and industrial processing, this employee will be assigned tasks related to cost accounting and analysis. Employee will work in accounting-related systems such as Sage Intacct (ERP), Metrc (seed-to-sale tracking), Inventory/POS systems, Microsoft Office, Adobe, document sharing programs, and other related business software.

- Book journal and adjusting journal entries
- Assist with period close process, including preparation of internal reports
- Analyze financial records, identify trends, provide key takeaways to management
- Address accounting-related matters and questions for the Finance Team
- Complete various accounting-related tasks, supporting daily departmental functions
- Assist with accounting oversight, monthly review of the general ledger
- Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements (also cash and tax-basis reports)
- Help with tax and related workpaper preparation
- Contribute to year-end process (i.e., 1099 prep, PPTs, annual review, etc.)
- Assist Finance Team with IRS and CRA audits, as well as other financial review
- Assist the cost accounting function, including updating models and variance analysis
- Work with data team on accounting and item mapping related to software integrations
- Support retail through POS oversight, sales & use tax filings, and reporting optimization
- Provide accounting perspective for internal systems development
- Complete other accounting-related assignments from the Controller
Competencies

Summary/objective
This position is responsible for compliance with Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA), Bureau of Fire Services (BFS), Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) regulations, and other government entities at a vertically integrated marijuana processor, cultivator, and provisioning/retail center located at 3055 E Bristol Rd. Burton, MI 48529. It requires detailed knowledge of regulations, ability to research, maintain, and audit regulatory requirements, and ability to develop, implement, and train programs required for compliance.

Employee Training
· Review, schedule, coordinate, and conduct initial, on the job, refresher, and recurring safety and compliance training for all primary, collateral, and incidental employees. Maintain employee training records.
· Conduct regular compliance meetings to maintain a healthy culture among all leadership, employees, contract workers, and visitors (w/a)
· Schedule and conduct associate training plans, training needs analyses, performance reviews, etc.
· Devise methods to evaluate effectiveness of compliance program and training
· Maintain strong relationship with departments to improve safety programs, processes, and training materials, and evaluate effectiveness of training

Compliance Program Maintenance
· Maintain training material and programs to ensure perfect compliance in Metrc for a vertically integrated indoor Class C cultivation site, processing lab, and provisioning center(s).
· Develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of programs that meet or exceed the expectations of applicable government entities (CRA, BFS, MIOSHA, EGLE, DOT, etc.) to ensure all business activities are compliant with federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and requirements
· Identify and correct procedures and operations that are not compliant with CRA, MIOSHA, EGLE, DOT, or other government regulations.
· Responsible for the regular review and continuous improvement of compliance related procedures and other items pertaining to safety, security, environment, hazards, and employee wellness. This includes, but is not limited to, the regular review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices, Disaster Recovery Plan, Security Procedures, etc.
· Regularly review current safety and compliance literature, monitor regulatory agency websites, and attend relevant events (trainings, seminars, meetings, webinars, etc.) to stay current on regulation changes and integrate necessary changes into our training and standard operating procedures to ensure on-going compliance
· Oversee the maintenance of Safety Data Sheets, Hazard Communication Right-To-Know Program, and other safety programs
· Research applicable regulations and develop a plan for compliance. Where applicable, develop and implement training for employees related to this plan.
· Active participation in leadership meetings
· Schedule audits, drills, and routine inspections and evaluate their effectiveness
Facilitate Internal Inspections
· Ensure entities and work areas are inspected for conditions that may compromise compliance/safety and that such conditions, casual factors, and behaviors are corrected in a timely manner
· Advise leadership of safety issues, audit results, and employee suggestions in a timely manner, both to provide a compliant work environment and establish priorities that implement a proactive compliance culture
· Collaborates with leadership to develop corrective and preventative actions without compromising the functional integrity, intended purposes, or efficiency of the equipment, process, or procedures
· Follows up to ensure that the corrective measures are implemented, and issues a report to the monitoring agency where necessary
· Authority to stop production to avoid compliance issues, non-conformances, or compromised safety
· Ensures thorough investigation of incidents where compliance/safety is compromised (accidents, near misses, injuries, etc.) to analyze root causes and ensure appropriate corrective and preventative actions are implemented
· Ensures that inspections, walk-thru’s, audits, and suggestions are conducted and results reviewed with leadership
· Ensures effectiveness of routine inspections (fire extinguisher, fire suppression systems, eye wash stations, etc.)
Facilitate Third Party Inspections/Investigation
· Act as liaison with agencies (CRA, BFS, MIOSHA, EGLE, DOT, etc.). Facilitate third party inspections. Coordinate teams to review nonconformances and identify corrective actions. Issue a report to the monitoring agency to formally document corrective measures, were applicable.
· Facilitate surprise MIOSHA inspection resulting from any of the following: Report of imminent danger, Fatality, Accident Investigation, Employee Complaint, Routine Safety/Health Inspection, Visual Activity, Referrals, Follow-ups or Re-inspections, or Monitoring Visits
· Be able to produce documentation and answer questions in area of responsibility in the event of an internal or external inspection
· Responsible for and make recommendations for compliance with all government requirements

Summary/objective
The Purchasing Specialist is accountable for the planning, inventory management, and procurement for all departments at Total Health Collective. The role is to ensure that all elements of the Supply Chain are covered in order to maintain efficient operations and stock levels based on the facility's needs. This position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, planning and scheduling the movement and storage of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, supplies, finished goods and related materials through the production and inventory process. This includes maintaining stock thresholds, placing orders, reviewing invoices, reconciling accounts, and identifying new opportunities as they arise. The Purchasing Specialist will also work with vendors consistently to build strong relationships that result in lasting partnerships and favorable deals for the operation.

- Identify and recommend business opportunities with a multitude of account options
- Negotiate pricing and terms of business inputs
- Planning, forecasting and purchasing in order to manage inventory levels and maximize service to the customer while hitting inventory level and working capital targets
- Manage all Procurement & Inventory Control raw materials and non MJ inventory
- Manage Purchasing of all inbound excipients and components (both hardware and packaging) needed for continuous production across all product lines
- Maintain exceptional communication with personnel working in receiving
- Working closely with the finance and operations teams across all OPEX and CAPEX needs
- Assisting in hitting working capital target by achieving target stock levels, inventory turns and service levels
- Continuously improving performance standards and processes in conjunction with the site and departmental goals
- Generate PO's and align invoices with packing slips to ensure accurate and timely payments which includes accurate coding of invoices for the finance team
- Analyze data and forecast requirements with vendors as well as maintain safety stocks
- Work with directors and managers to provide accurate lead times and procurement updates
- Coordinating the receipt and shipping of all goods to maintain service metrics
- Track and trace freight and inbound deliveries
- Ensure returns are managed in a timely manner
- Maintain and create detailed reports
- Responsible for general administrative functions, data entry and reporting across the supply chain
- Proactively taking part in departmental meetings to ensure up to date communication is provided to the team
Competencies
- Either possesses or is willing to develop comprehensive knowledge of Procurement functions and the Supply Chain.
