Leeds Professional Resources is working with a company in the Boca Raton area of Florida that is looking for a Director of SEC Financial Reporting. The company you will be working with is going to be in the Cannabis Industry. This position on top of salary will have a 20% bonus and stock options as well.
This is a hybrid position: 2-3 days in office a week.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Director of Financial Reporting and internal staff in preparing and reviewing the quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Qs and 10-Ks, 8-Ks, including XBRL, in addition to other public filings, such as registration statements and proxy statements
- Draft and review of the Management's Discussion and Analysis section of the 10-K/Q and support the drafting of the earnings release and related earnings call transcript
- Complete monthly and quarterly debt covenant reporting, in conjunction with corresponding financial statements and certificates
- Interface with the accounting department to extract data and reports from Sage reporting system and general ledger system to prepare monthly financial reports, and monthly/quarterly financial statements for inclusion in various internal filings and SEC filing reporting requirements
- Assist in preparing quarterly and year-end audit schedules and analyses for the external auditors.
- Prepare other external reporting items such as government/census reporting
- Prepare the quarterly and annual GAAP disclosure checklist
- Complete calculation of earnings per share on a quarterly basis
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in SEC reporting, technical accounting and/or public accounting (preferably Big Four)
- CPA is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or similar
- Expertise with drafting 10-Q/10-K US GAAP financial statements
- Extensive working knowledge of XBRL

Responsibilities
- Management and monitoring of all horticulture process parameters and inputs including but not limited to nutrient management, irrigation activities, climate management, light recipes, etc.
- Oversee facility IPM strategies including exclusion, crop monitoring, record keeping, preventative measures, and additional methods of control
- Monitor and ensure proper functioning of critical horticulture equipment including sensitive analytical instruments, data management tools and controls
- Develop and adhere to standard operating procedures and quality standards to ensure crop success
- Train, evaluate and supervise all personnel related to horticulture processes and tasks
- Ensure the safe handling, inventory and maintenance of fertilizer chemicals and crop inputs
- Ensure that the facility is operating and producing product that meets food safety and quality standards
- Enforce strict Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation and Safety Standards
- Accountable for compliance of relevant Food Safety Standards
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Plant Science or related field
- 2+ years of experience in leadership role in production horticulture
- Demonstrated success as a manager of people and process
- Demonstrated ability to work, manage, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment and on deadline; aptitude for problem solving and decision making needed
- Demonstrated ability to identify, recommend and implement best practice approaches that deliver rapid, consistent, high-quality service
- Experience with Argus, Priva Systems a plus
- Proficient with Excel, Powerpoint, Word

Director of Cultivation is responsible for setting cultivation standards that are to be uniformly adhered to throughout all multi-state cultivation operations, deliver quality and innovative cannabis product strains and variety to medical and recreational cannabis patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and Expansion
- Lead the Cultivation Design Team to direct build out and equipment planning and expansion for all cultivation operations
- Monitor and approve subsidiary cultivation CAPEX budget and report variances
- Communicate regularly with Executive Director with respect to all architectural and engineering issues; and Initiate cultivation equipment acquisition
- Reviews current systems for operational efficiency and stays abreast of grow and other technology and product developments in the cannabis industry and related industries
- Develops methods to monitor and measure cultivation activity to identify areas of success and areas of opportunity to control production efficiency, manufacturing variances, material waste and other indicators of profitability
- Ensure that the Cultivation Team is adhering to protocols and policies to ensure Executive Director's production requirements are met
- Regularly review harvest schedules with Head Growers to ensure proper strain inventory
- Establish QA/QC policies and standards, including health, and safety requirements and monitor and ensure compliance
- Establish cultivation standards and monitor and ensure compliance and communication including: Cultivation Equipment specs and standards; Nutrient and environment protocols; Hygiene and safety policies and procedures
- Regularly collaborate with Head Growers and the Grow Team Committee to identify industry best practices, modify cultivation policies and ensure uniform roll out
- Encourage testing of cutting-edge cultivation methodologies and inputs in a controlled and measured manner
CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS
- Demonstrated mastery of growing methods, including in-depth knowledge of macro- and micro-nutrients, beneficial bacterial and nutrient implementation
- Expert knowledge of plant diseases, insects, and fungi, as well as plant treatment options
- Proven experience in managing crops and production is required Sound understanding of the financial principles applicable to effective planning, cost control and budgeting of the crop growth operation
