We are currently seeking Retail Associates/Budtenders for our Local Cannabis Company dispensary in Kansas City. This position reports to the General Manager/Dispensary Manager and is full time and eligible for company benefits. Responsible for informing patients/customers of available products and how they should be used. Dispenses product to patients and caregivers with oversight from the Dispensary Manager and/or Shift Supervisor.
The DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES required for this position shall include, but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service and sales skills by answering or appropriately directing questions and concerns
- Assist with keeping the sales floor stocked with merchandise and/or organizing the sales floor and stock areas
- Retain thorough and comprehensive knowledge of patient benefits, discounts, coupons and promotions
- Operate cash register by using barcode scanner, computer-based POS system and cash drawer to process transactions
- Greet and establish rapport with customers--get to know them and seek to understand their interest in cannabis medicine: First-Time Patient Run-Down. Inform guests of specials. Inform guests of special events. Encourage email and text-blast sign up. Arranges payment terms in accordance with established guidelines.
- Assist patients in identifying the medicines and methods of medication that best fit their individual needs:
- Maintain established sales average goals
- Maintain established return rate goals.
- Adhere to strict distribution processes and maintain a professional and safe environment for customers and coworkers.
- Gather and process required patient documents and information, and perform detailed verification while maintaining client confidentiality: Patient Sign Up; Patient Check In; Patient Renewals
- Continue to enhance your knowledge of medical cannabis, and continually hone your ability to explain and recommend treatment procedures and product uses per Pharmacist recommendations.
- Unpack, sort, count and label merchandise as directed, including items requiring special handling or refrigeration.
- Ensure the facility is regularly cleaned and sanitized according to company procedures
- Trained in CPR/First Aid
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED
- High school diploma required
- Previous experience in dispensing controlled substances preferred
- Two to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate degree in health care field preferred but not required.
- Sales Experience.
- Patient Care Experience preferred
- Must be friendly, outgoing, trustworthy, dependable, and hardworking.
- Must be able to provide exemplary customer service and represent the business with pride.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have no felony convictions.
- Must comply with a background check/fingerprinting.
- Previous retail, operations and/or sales experience required
- Basic strain and plant structure knowledge
- Knowledge of uses and benefits of cannabinoid.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately
- Must comply with state regulations and guidelines
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing and moving for 2-3 hours at a time; sitting for prolonged periods, some bending
- Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer
- Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a cash register, computer, and telephone.
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

We are a fast-paced cannabis storefront ready to expand our team of budtenders! Retail positions include traditional in-store sales and express curbside pick-up We are looking for highly motivated, positive individuals with the enthusiasm, drive, and customer service skills to cultivate our loyal customer base. For this reason, those with cannabis experience are highly preferred, though we are ready to make exceptions for the right applicant. Dispensary Agent Card is a requirement.
Availability: Open availability is highly preferred for all positions. At least 4 days of completely open availability (7am-12am) is a requirement.
Position: Budtending & Curbside Sales
In-store sales are limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. As such, this position will include alternating shifts between traditional in-store sales and service for curbside pickup.
Responsibilities include:
- Receptionist duties: ID verification, inputting patient data, answering phones and online inquiries, etc
- Assisting with customer product selection for in-store sales
- Cash and payment processing
- Prepping online orders for curbside pickup
- Queue and traffic flow management
