We are currently seeking Retail Associates/Budtenders for our Local Cannabis Company dispensary in Kansas City. This position reports to the General Manager/Dispensary Manager and is full time and eligible for company benefits. Responsible for informing patients/customers of available products and how they should be used. Dispenses product to patients and caregivers with oversight from the Dispensary Manager and/or Shift Supervisor.
The DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES required for this position shall include, but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service and sales skills by answering or appropriately directing questions and concerns
- Assist with keeping the sales floor stocked with merchandise and/or organizing the sales floor and stock areas
- Retain thorough and comprehensive knowledge of patient benefits, discounts, coupons and promotions
- Operate cash register by using barcode scanner, computer-based POS system and cash drawer to process transactions
- Greet and establish rapport with customers--get to know them and seek to understand their interest in cannabis medicine: First-Time Patient Run-Down. Inform guests of specials. Inform guests of special events. Encourage email and text-blast sign up. Arranges payment terms in accordance with established guidelines.
- Assist patients in identifying the medicines and methods of medication that best fit their individual needs:
- Maintain established sales average goals
- Maintain established return rate goals.
- Adhere to strict distribution processes and maintain a professional and safe environment for customers and coworkers.
- Gather and process required patient documents and information, and perform detailed verification while maintaining client confidentiality: Patient Sign Up; Patient Check In; Patient Renewals
- Continue to enhance your knowledge of medical cannabis, and continually hone your ability to explain and recommend treatment procedures and product uses per Pharmacist recommendations.
- Unpack, sort, count and label merchandise as directed, including items requiring special handling or refrigeration.
- Ensure the facility is regularly cleaned and sanitized according to company procedures
- Trained in CPR/First Aid
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED
- High school diploma required
- Previous experience in dispensing controlled substances preferred
- Two to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate degree in health care field preferred but not required.
- Sales Experience.
- Patient Care Experience preferred
- Must be friendly, outgoing, trustworthy, dependable, and hardworking.
- Must be able to provide exemplary customer service and represent the business with pride.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have no felony convictions.
- Must comply with a background check/fingerprinting.
- Previous retail, operations and/or sales experience required
- Basic strain and plant structure knowledge
- Knowledge of uses and benefits of cannabinoid.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately
- Must comply with state regulations and guidelines
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing and moving for 2-3 hours at a time; sitting for prolonged periods, some bending
- Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer
- Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a cash register, computer, and telephone.
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Moderate noise level similar to a typical retail environment
- Varied hours and/or days, including nights, days, holidays, or weekends
- Constant patient and co-worker interactions'
