Come work with Shebelaw Marketing, an I71/I81-compliant gifting company in the DC metro area. We are looking to hire an experienced Photographer to help us with cannabis/marijuana-related lifestyle photos and product pictures for our website and social media profiles.
This will be a freelance, as-needed position. Please respond with a link to your portfolio or website, compensation requirements, and resume to be considered.
Job Description:
We will require ~30 edited and remastered photos per month. We may need more in the first few months for professional products photos. The ideal candidate should be able to showcase a portfolio of quality lifestyle images and professional product photos to be considered.
You will need to bring your own equipment.
Responsibilities for Photographer
- Take professional pictures in a studio or on location in Washington, DC.
- Work closely with our team to produce high-quality photographic images of cannabis and concentrates.
- Use different techniques to enhance the photographs and deliver photographs edited for color and clarity.
- Use photo manipulation software such as Adobe Suite to get desired results
- Recommend creative ideas to exceed expectations of goals and objectives
- Use artistic knowledge to enhance and compose photographs
- Review sets of photographs and select the best results
- Operate various photographic equipment such as single lens reflex cameras and film or digital cameras and lighting
Qualifications for Photographer
- Proven experience as a photographer in a competitive industry (preferably cannabis)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detailed knowledge of photography art and lighting
- Strong creative presence and artistic flair
- Customer focus with a desire to over deliver on quality
- Able to follow instructions clearly to achieve desired results
- Able to stand and move around for long periods at a time
- Flexible to travel to locations as required of the job (DC Metro area)
- Must have own equipment (ie camera, lightbox, props, etc.)

We are a DC cannabis review site that is rapidly growing. We are looking for cannabis connoisseurs who think they have what it takes to join our ranks as photographers and videographers of DC Initiative 71 compliant gifts, medical marijuana dispensary products, and the experiences that surround them. This role is sometimes remote, but does require the ability to travel throughout the city and to pick-up or receive deliveries in the District (must be local). Photoshoots, while abiding by strict social distancing and pandemic protocols, will require being in the presence of other people on occasion.
*Portfolio of cannabis photos expected upon request following application.

Responsibilities
- Photograph, edit, and publish photos and videos of cannabis products, gifts, and the experiences surrounding them.
- Work with a team in a collaborative way to help create valuable content for our audience.
- Use your vision to capture cannabis experiences through a creative lens.
