General Summary:
The delivery driver is responsible for distributing products promptly to our customers and picking up orders from our vendors to be returned to the warehouse. You will be the face of BioHazard! You will represent the company in a professional and friendly manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction. When not performing driving duties, you will be required to perform warehouse and inventory duties as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver a wide variety of glassware and packaging accessories to different business locations and through different routes in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
- Follow routes and time schedules to optimize efficiency.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery transit vehicle.
- Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve customers’ complaints.
- Collect payments from customers and reconcile to invoices; complete paperwork to turn into the accounting office upon return.
- Inform customers about new products, promotions and services.
- Complete vehicle logs, delivery paperwork and prepare all required reports.
- Follow all driving regulations and safety standards.
- Provide back up support for picking orders from inventory with scanners when not driving on deliveries.
- Accepts RA’s and refused merchandise from customers and returns it back to the Receiving and Inventory Control Supervisor for disposition.
- Picks up orders from suppliers and delivers back to the warehouse for receipt by the Receiving and Inventory Control Supervisor.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned.
- Reads customer order, transfer order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas in the upstairs warehouse.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Assembles customer orders from stock and delivers downstairs. Pulls and places transfer orders on pallets for delivery to the warehouse. Uses a packing as needed for orders.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
