Job Description
Cannabis Compliance Associate is a full-time position responsible for managing day to day compliance operations. The Compliance Associate will work alongside the Compliance Manager to ensure all departments follow proper protocols and provide assistance when needed.
Job Responsibilities and Functions
- Remain continuously apprised of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards and advise staff on updates as needed
- Assist in creating, monitoring, and implementing Standard Operation Procedures for compliant cultivation, manufacturing, and dispensing processes
- Utilize a seed-to-sale system to assist staff with product movement, and waste for cultivation and manufactured products
- Assist Compliance Manager with conducting monthly facility compliance audits
- Draft corrective action plans, work with staff to implement appropriate changes to operations, and maintain oversight of corrective actions for external audits
- Identify potential issues affecting product quality or regulatory compliance and escalate to Compliance Manager as needed
- Communicate compliance-related issues and guidance to staff in a clear and effective manner
- Assist Compliance Manager with a review of marketing materials, packaging, and labeling updates
- Perform periodic reviews of procedures, records, forms, and product batch records to ensure ongoing maintenance and compliance
- Ensure inventory counts are performed consistently and conduct regular reviews of inventory logs for accuracy.
- The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 25 lb
- Analyze regulatory deficiencies or complaints and make recommendations regarding their correction
- Review and upload all logs used around the facility every week.
- Update standard operating procedures, work instructions, or policies as directed by the compliance manager
- Manage record keeping in a compliant and organized fashion
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities
- Work collectively and respectfully with other team members
- Ability to work weekends if needed
Qualification and Requirements
- The ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and be able to work collaboratively to oversee multiple projects at once
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to interact professionally at all levels
- Ability to prioritize and flexibility to shift between multiple projects while maintaining a strong work ethic
