Job Summary
The Developer is responsible for the development, design, and implementation of new and modified software products and ongoing business projects. A key area of focus is our custom web-based Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Learn and understand the desired user experience and business results for our in-house LIMS.
- Research, design, write, implement, and manage efficient code.
- Identify areas of modification in existing programs and subsequently develop these modifications and/or upgrades.
- Perform testing from scripted test cases as well as write test cases based on laboratory requirements.
- Perform smoke testing and regression testing to ensure comprehensive analysis of issues and resolutions. This includes debugging pre-released software for defects.
- Partner closely with other Developers, UX designers, and business/systems analysts.
- Author documentation regarding newly created features and related SOPs/how-to guides.
- Deploy software tools, processes, and metrics.
- Develop quality assurance procedures.
- Provide comprehensive reporting as well as effective training for users.
- Offer recommendations regarding process improvement.
- Prioritize and juggle multiple projects at once.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to maintain an incredibly high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidence, confidentially, and composure during difficult and/or complex situations.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced deadline environment (both collaborative and autonomous environments) while successfully managing multiple tasks.
- Strong knowledge of standard laboratory protocol, including ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work, problem solve, and communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record of developing software code for custom business platforms.
Education and Experience
- Required: A high school diploma (or GED) plus least three (3) years of relevant programming experience.
- Required: At least two (2) years of experience with JavaScript, Vue.js, Ruby, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Agile development concepts, test automation, Bootstrap, and React, AWS, and Heroku.
- Optional: Exposure to the cannabis industry.

Laboratory staff can be expected to work in areas where hazards associated are with, but not limited to, airborne pathogens. Appropriate training is provided regarding these hazards and staff are expected to adhere to all health and safety policies at all times, whether they are in writing or verbalized by a supervisor.

Cannabreeze is a Veteran owned, seed-to-sale CBD Hemp farm looking for 2 or 3 individuals interested in sharing our passion for hemp health at our weekend farmers markets. Become part of the CBD movement by representing Cannabreeze at one of our 30 market locations around the DMV. This position is outdoors and requires you to have your own vehicle to transport market materials to your market location, and return back to the farm. Each Market runs for 4-5 hours, with set up before open and after close. A high school diploma or GED, Sales experience, valid drivers license and 5 year good driving record is required. A college degree is a plus. We will train the right person to become a CBD expert at one of our 30 locations around the DMV.
This is a VERY independent, autonomous environment requiring an OUTGOING, INTELLIGENT, RESPONSIBLE individual who appreciates educating others on the value cannabis products bring to society.
