We are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to lead all tax activities of C3 Industries while partnering with the CFO to drive meaningful value for the company.
In this role you will….
- Partner with the CFO to maximize federal and state income tax deductions as they pertain to 280E and communicate pertinent accounting treatment updates.
- Work with outside tax consultants to calculate and pay quarterly estimated taxes.
- Co-lead 409a and 805 engagements with the CFO.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual sales and excise tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely payment
- Periodically review sales and excise tax calculations and ensure updates in the company's point-of-sale system.
- Ensure real property tax assessments are accurate and current.
- Lead filing of annual personal property tax returns in various jurisdictions.
- Lead asset segregation engagements.
- Team with accounting to develop accurate tax accruals for monthly financial reporting.
- Assist finance with cash projections for all cash tax outlays.
- Partner with legal and compliance on licensing related tax matters.
- Manage all company tax account profiles and registrations.
- Stay current on federal and state tax developments in the cannabis industry.
Skills and experience you have...
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; five years of experience in a technical tax role; three years of project management experience
- Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot independently and proactively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and strong computer skills; advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven experience in a project manager role.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to develop and implement operational best practices.
- Good judgment in a fast-moving environment with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.

We are looking for a Senior Accountant, to join our rapidly growing company, headquartered in Austin, TX. The Senior Accountant must have the proven ability to research, reconcile and resolve complex balance sheet account reconciliation issues. This role will be responsible for managing the overall accounting operations of the company's accounting department, reconciling accounts, and finalizing financial reports to discuss with executive management. The Senior Accountant-CPA will resolve account discrepancies, analyze the company's financial status, and verify financial transactions. We need a highly analytical person who will provide strategic recommendations to prevent overspending and increase efficiency across all departments to drive more revenues and profits while minimizing the financial risk of the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform variance analysis and be able to explain accounting and business cause and effect of a situation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support a “continuous accounting environment” where we don’t just focus on month-end close activities, but rather a continuous approach to recording transactions and activity.
- Understanding of multi-entity environment and financial reporting requirements
- Support audit requests and provide management support for various external and internal audits, including planning, communication, tracking, and review of selections and schedules assigned through management.
- Organizing and updating accounting records as needed.
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reporting. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.
- Reconciliations of GL and Accounts Variance analysis and adjusting entries.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual filings as required by agencies.
- Research and resolve vendor invoice discrepancies. Maintain vendor files and records (physical or electronic).
· Prepare P&L Statements all the way through 3rd party audit / 3rd party CPA reviewed financials
- Participate in budgeting processes.
- Brief senior managers regularly on the company’s financial status.
- Performs other duties as assigned and necessary to support management objectives and goals.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
