Trimmers are responsible for assisting in the harvest and post-harvest plant processing of cannabis. Trimmers take down, trim and buck the plants as requested. This position maintains and sanitizes work space, completes detailed recordkeeping and strictly adheres to the company’s policies, operating procedures. Strict adherence to the company’s policies, operating procedures and compliance with local, state and federal regulations (including safety rules/regulations) is essential for this position. This is a labor-intensive position that requires attention to detail, self-accountability, good critical thinking, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing tasks.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES;
- Fan leaf removal, harvest, drying, trimming, curing, weighing, packaging, labeling, recording, inspection of product in addition to cleaning and sanitation
- Hand trim fan leaves from marijuana plants before harvest using shears, scissors
- Transport harvested plants to drying and hang to be dried
· Protects the quality of the product at all times

About This Role
Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. The
Responsibilities
Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time. We are a fast-growing company looking for people that are excited to grow along with us. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Responsible for trimming, weighing, packaging, and collecting data for harvested plants
- Directly responsible for all stages of trimming through the transfer to the Quarantine Room
- Responsible for production and labeling of some secondary products to include small flower, trim and fresh frozen material for extraction
- Directly responsible for providing accurate and timely information to leads relating to weights, measures, quantities, etc.
- Identify and communicate problems such as mold, diseases, insects, etc. that may have a negative impact quality
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assure sanitation standards are followed with respect to process equipment maintenance (i.e., nutrient reservoirs and irrigation) and finished goods production equipment (i.e., auto-trimmer, Pre-roll, extraction, etc.)
- Be able to see and mitigate Waste / Product and Process Defects – considering a wide variety of defects such as plant disease, bad insects, poor product quality, etc.
- Accountable for quality control checks (Leader Standard Work) to ensure process and product quality in line with company standards and assure Citizens maintain a clean and tidy workspace (5-S Standard)
- Collaborate with all Citizens in improving daily tasks, assure proper training, and provide process audits with a passion for Continuous Improvement.
- Communicate with clarity and consistency to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

TRIMMING STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE and PROTOCOLS: Trimming marijuana is a very detail-oriented and repetitive job. It requires passion for the industry, a positive attitude, and the ability to follow direction very closely. You must be able to handle critique, have strong hand-eye coordination, and be able to improve your quality and speed as you learn. Attendance and flexibility are also extremely important within this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing the team, scheduling the team, reporting trim output as well as trimming. Trimming different strains of cannabis efficiently and in a timely manor with repetitive hand motions. You must be able to lift up to fifty pounds, and you must be willing to sit or stand for long periods of time. Aside from trimming the plant, you will also be in charge of separation of stems, water leaf, and sweet leaf, as well as the clean up before and after processing.
HEALTH AND SAFETY: Trimmers can be exposed to mold, sensitizers/allergens, Co2, pesticides, occupationalinjuries (cuts), chemical exposure and machinery. Please make sure you are wearing yourface mask, gloves, scrubs, hairnets/beard nets and foot covers at all times. There will be no food, smoking or exposed beverages allowed in the trim room.
Pay period is every other week and product samples are given out weekly to ALL employees.
