The Transportation Lead will assist the Supervisor to assign drivers and oversee the day to day operations of the transportation department. They will ensure assigned tasks and responsibilities are completed timely and efficiently while maintaining safety. Key Responsibilities
- On a daily basis inspect all vehicles and ensure all lights, windshield wipers, and other safety equipment are in-place and working properly

Job Description:
The Transportation Lead works as an integral part of the Curaleaf Maryland Security Team and is responsible for ensuring company facilities, employees, patients and products are well secured in accordance with established procedures and policies. The Transportation Lead is responsible for transporting assets in a secure and consistent manner, conducting security checks, viewing security monitors, and reporting significant problems to authorities, state regulators and Company leaders assigned as first point of contact. The Transportation Lead will also complete scheduled security reports and assist company personnel with special needs as needed. The Transportation Lead reports to the Security Manager for Maryland.

Inspecting building, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
Review transport manifest to ensure proper inventory, route, and equipment is efficient and ready for operation. Ensure all inventory control measures are in place/adhered to prior, during, and after asset transport. Ensure the proper collection, completion, and retention of all accompanied transport documentation
Securely transport assets to and from our processing facility, administration and customer sites.
Responsible for managing employee access cards by activating new key cards and deactivating key cards when employees terminate from the company; setting proper access controls based on employee's role
Participates in routine safety equipment checks to ensure security equipment is functioning properly and is regularly maintained, following manufacturer's instructions
Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, vendors and other persons, asking for appropriate documentation and/or authorization in order to stop suspicious people and guard against theft and maintaining security of premises
Investigates and reports disturbances, hazards, and suspicious activities to local police for correction actions
Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as security / surveillance equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences in a timely and accurate manner and within established protocols and guidelines
Prepares monthly reporting on access controls and inspections
Ensures reports, records and other documentation is accurate, complete, timely and in accordance with established policies and procedures
Maintains company's stability and reputation by complying with local, state and federal laws and regulations
Monitor compliance and safety practices and recommend means and methods to improve overall operations
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Four years prior experience as a safety or security professional, law enforcement or military experience preferred
Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively
Must have clean driving record
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Proven surveillance skills, attentive to detail
Proactive in auditing security issues on a daily basis
Knowledge of security equipment and devices and the operation thereof
Demonstrated ability to enforce security and safety procedures
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff, patients and the public
Training and certification in First Aid, and CPR preferred
Must be able to successfully pass an extensive criminal history check, clear of any felony convictions

The Transportation Lead is responsible for the safe, accurate and timely delivery of medical cannabis products to dispensaries. The Transportation Lead is to effectively lead by example and manage all delivery staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively lead and manage the daily activities of the delivery staff
- Assign schedules to delivery staff to ensure adequate coverage for an efficient workflow
- Train and develop department personnel to acceptable levels
- Create and enforce standard delivery operating procedures
- Manage maintenance, state inspections and repairs of vehicle fleet
- Inspect all delivery orders for accuracy
- Ensure transports are safely loaded and unloaded daily
- Track routes and driving habits of all delivery staff using transportation tracking system
- Maintain timely communication regarding deliveries, manifests, questions, and product returns
- Maintain, adapt, and improve upon delivery times and schedules to maximize resources and minimize cost
- Maintain accurate and compliant internal records including schedules, invoices, manifests, vehicle information, and returns
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of inventory using inventory tracking system
- Assist in loading vehicles
- Coordinate and participate in communication between departments regarding movement of inventory, returns, and deliveries
- Track movement of finished packaged cannabis products through completion of delivery
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
- Oversee hiring and training of new employees
- Other duties as assigned
