Job Title: Shift Lead
Reports to: Store Director & Assistant Manager

Position Objective:
The Shift Lead will provide assistance to the Store Director and Assistant Manager by supporting the activities and operations of the store, enforce policies and procedures, and operational guidelines. The Shift Lead will assist in monitoring employee actions, assist handling customer service issues/concerns, complete attendant duties as necessary and act as the Manager-On-Duty in absence of the General Manager and Manager, including opening/closing their assigned location.
Essential Functions:
Assist in Supervision of Attendants:
Foster teamwork, including motivating team members
Provide continuous coaching and training when applicable
Act as MOD on duty when the Store Director and Assistant Manager are not on site
Monitor task(s) completion of Budtenders
Communicate to Store Director and Assistant Manager of any concerns or issues regarding staff immediately
Assist in carrying out management directives
Lead by setting a positive example
Assist in training directives, including upselling and new hires when necessary
Responsible for managing breaks for the hourly team members
Communicates to team members any changes directives as assigned by Store Director and Assistant Manager
Focus on Customer Service:
Be a strong host personality on the floor and provide attendants with strategies to improve their guest interactions
Process returns in accordance with company procedures
Maintain a strong product knowledge
Administration:
Verify cash counts at the beginning and end of each shift
Provide accurate change to attendants when needed
Verify drawer counts, follows all cash handling procedures
Follows and accurately completes opening and closing checklists when opening or closing location
Maintain approved merchandising standards and display presentations, match the ordering buttons on tablet.
Compliance and Safety:
Responsible for abiding by Star Buds Safety Program
Understand and Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the cannabis industry
Adhere to all company SOPs in regarding operational procedures
Perform Budtending duties to assist when necessary, must maintain working knowledge
Other duties as assigned.

Shift Lead Job Description
Summary: The purpose of the Shift Lead role is to provide support to the management team and to provide guidance, coaching, and sales support to general staff. The Shift Lead is expected to provide individual training and guidance to sales staff and to help develop, train, and teach new hires in line with LOVA expectations and objectives. The SL also helps implement store promotions, new processes/procedures, and overall act as a liaison between the budtending staff and management.
Cannabis/Product/Compliance Knowledge
- Maintains in depth cannabis knowledge in terms of types of cannabis, general strain knowledge, consumption methods, general terpene knowledge, infusion methods, and general effects.
- Maintains in depth product knowledge in terms of types of products, new and emerging products and potential products for us to carry.
- Maintains expert cannabis compliance knowledge and has a firm grasp on retail compliance and how they apply to day to day operations and tasks such as packaging, labeling product for sale, product display, acceptable ID types, MED expectations, etc.
- Assists management with overseeing daily compliance and reports compliance issues to General Manager as they occur.
- Informs and educates staff on all of the above and acts as intermediary between budtenders and management for questions and inquiries.
