Job Summary:

Landau Laboratories, an industry-leading Cannabis Testing laboratory in the Coachella Valley, California, seeks a full-time Senior Analytical Chemist in Cathedral City. The Analytical Chemist will execute sample analysis, review the results and will perform the data entry in the LIMS system in an ISO 17025:2017 certified laboratory, and will be responsible for all work performed in support of their assigned essay.

A successful candidate shall have at least two-year experience with LC-MS/MS instrumentation, troubleshooting techniques as well as have a penchant for organization and reliability. Candidates having knowledge and experience with other instruments such as ICP-MS or HPLC will be preferred.

The business revolves around meeting short deadlines in a fast-paced worked environment, so team players with good communication abilities and capable of precisely following directions from the management are desired.

Responsibilities:

• Samples analysis using Laboratory SOPs, review of the results obtained, and data entry in the LIMS and Matrc systems.
• Maintain appropriate quality control (QC) processes and compliant procedures required by the BCC and the ISO 17025:2017 standard to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of the results.
• Candidate should obtain traceable and reliable results with limited supervision from Lab Director and/or Chief Science Officer (CSO).
• Be prepared to discuss any abnormal/fail results and unsuccessful analytical batch runs (failing QC, etc) with Lab Director and CSO.
• Participation and successful completion of semi-annual proficiency testing is required.
• The successful candidate should follow laboratory SOPs and should have excellent skills in scientific journal logging for reporting, computer software, and data management reporting.
• Periodic maintenance of analytical instruments and lab equipment is required.
• The candidate will be involved in the revision of existing procedures and should help to draft new procedures under the supervision of the Laboratory Director.
• Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control.

We are seeking an experienced analytical chemist to work in a high-volume, regulated Cannabis laboratory. Primary responsibility would be method development and analysis of Cannabis and Hemp samples for pesticide residues using LCQQQ. Additionally, the candidate will become proficient in the analysis of samples for cannabinoid concentration, residual solvents and terpenes using HPLC, GC-FID and GC-MS technology. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team in a high-volume and rapidly evolving workplace. Leadership experience in directing lab techs in high throughput and efficiency is a plus. Experience in toxicology, agronomy or environmental analysiswill also translate well.

The candidate must be dependable, punctual and maintain positive attitude even in high stress situations; must be willing to work with medical cannabis and industrial hemp and must pass background check and be willing to obtain medical cannabis card (company paid) until background check and state lab agent cards are available.
