Description and Essential Functions

Essential Functions
Functions may include, but are not limited to, the following: assume full management responsibility for division services and activities related to revenue and recovery including cashiering, accounts receivable, banking/merchant management, cash management, investment management oversight, utility billing, collections, revenue management and auditing, parking meter operations oversight and business licenses; coordinate activities with other divisions and departments; oversee centralized cashiering; City-wide balancing and posting of all cash, checks, credit cards and electronic file transfers; ensure all monies received by the City are deposited timely and accounted for; manage and monitor a variety of revenue sources for the City including sales tax, transient occupancy tax, franchise fees, cannabis excise tax and property taxes; direct internal collection and fiscal year-end activities including reconciliations and year-end accruals; develop and maintain relationships with outside collection vendors; oversee outside collection vendors and contracts; ensure contracts are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies; oversee banking, merchant, investment management, parking meter enforcement, and collections agreements for the City; supervise transient occupancy tax audits (including short-term rentals) and cannabis excise tax as necessary; coordinate division software program changes and upgrades to ensure operational efficiency; provide responsible staff assistance to the Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance; conduct a variety of organizational studies, investigations, and operational studies; recommend modifications to revenue and cash management programs, policies, and procedures as appropriate; oversee and participate in the development and administration of the division budget; approve the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; approve expenditures and implement budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary; research and prepare technical and administrative reports; prepare written correspondence including city council agenda items, reports, proposals, contracts, publication, correspondence, charts and tables; Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and/or experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: five years of increasingly responsible professional accounting, auditing, banking or revenue management experience, preferably for a municipal agency, including two years of supervisory responsibility AND training equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable. License or Certificate: Possession of a valid California driver's license.

Job Summary:
Verano Holdings is a national, vertically integrated operator of licensed cannabis cultivation, manufacturing, and retail facilities. The primary focus of this role is to oversee revenue forecasting, analysis, and planning to drive profitable growth throughout the organization. The role will provide thought leadership to key stakeholders through all planning processes including periodic forecasting, budgeting, and strategic initiative development. This person will also develop complex revenue modeling and interface with Marketing and Sales leaders to deliver insightful and action-oriented financial analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the revenue management function for corporate sales and marketing teams, including wholesale and retail sales.
- Centrally manage Verano's pricing, trade spend, and sales execution agenda.
- Plan and deliver profitable growth through various revenue management levers.
- Deliver market share, sales, and profit goals through price pack strategy and execution, promotional ROI optimization, product innovation, integrated planning, digitization of reporting and processes, and predictive analytics.
- Develop strategic projects related to trade architecture design, life cycle pricing, and digitization of revenue management processes and tools.
- Partner across Marketing, Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success, Finance and Operations on short-term and long-term strategies, with a focus on scaling our company and processes.
- Oversee Verano's pipeline management; measure and report out on pipeline creation, conversion, and effectiveness.
- Develop variance analysis comparisons against budgets and forecasts and create periodic reporting.
- Build revenue forecast model (by product) highlighting major assumptions and provide in depth analysis including monthly Actuals vs Forecasts from revenue through gross margin, by product.
- Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) and incorporate them with internal and external data sources to constantly refine forecast accuracy.
- Introduce improvements, streamline, and eliminate unnecessary processes and workflows that will enhance the overall operation and efficiency of the finance organization, specifically between business leaders, financial systems, accounting, and planning.
- Deliver in-depth results analysis by channel, user behavior, geography, and retention cohorts and make recommendations on process/cost improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or relevant major required.
- 5+ years' experience working as a Senior Accountant, Sr. Financial Analyst, or Manager in a publicly traded company or supporting public clients.
- Experience working on revenue management.
- Knowledge of financial systems and the Microsoft Suite.
