Full Job Description
The Post-Harvest / Production Technician will assist in all aspects of post-harvest production. Post-Harvest / Production Technicians assist with harvesting, drying, curing, and packaging the flowers based on various work instructions, processes, and techniques performed as a part of daily routine operations. Under the direction and guidance of the team's management, techs will be responsible for meeting timely deadlines and goals. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently while being a part of a team. Within this fast-paced environment, Post-Harvest / Production Techs must take pride in their work performance in order to meet the high-quality and visually aesthetic standards of our brand. Post-Harvest / Production Technicians must adhere to all facility SOPs, including cleanliness and regulatory compliance expectations. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive and coachable attitude; Display a desire for personal and professional growth.
- Breakdown flowers from stem and stalk of plant in order to separate unusable waste from useable product.
- Track the amount of unusable waste for each plant/batch.
- Trim cannabis to meet company aesthetics, producing the highest quality product efficiently.
- After breakdown of plant, employee must identify and separate fan leaves, stems and sugar leaves on the flower.
- Employee must account for each by-product type processed off the flower; adding stems and fan leaves to “waste” for proper tracking.
- Employee must exhibit competency in basic organizational, tracking and communication skills.
- Employee must be able to work well independently, as well as with others.
- Employee must be able to adapt to various strains, styles and types of marijuana they are trimming; adjusting their techniques to maintain a steady pace and quality.
- Perform accurate manufacturing, packaging, and labeling of all products including specific product specifications to ensure compliance with company, local, and state policies and procedures.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure the safety and efficacy of all products.
- Operating with equipment and machinery to package dried cannabis product as instructed and trained, safely. Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the equipment and machinery to sustain longevity and performance.
- Meet production expectations for trimming, pre-pack/pre-rolls, shelf/bulk flower, and order fulfillment.
- Time-management: employee must manage their time during work efficiently in order to meet goals while consistently producing the highest quality product.
- Employee must be able to follow basic instructions as well as be able to take constructive criticism from their managers so they can help maintain quality standards and production goals.
- Employee must show up on time for work every day ready to work.
- Employee must exhibit personal hygiene and follow the health guidelines, shower prior to shift, wear supplied PPE and coveralls at all times supplied by employer.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment; includes all production areas and all equipment associated with production.
- Clean and disinfect all processing areas and equipment at the end of every day. This may also include light janitorial tasks.
- Employee must maintain quality standards, flower integrity and adapt to various strains/techniques. Must follow all company SOPs and state specific regulations.
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization in all post-harvest production areas including the dry and trim rooms, and upkeep of all equipment and tools used.
- Prioritize personal and team goals based on the needs of the business.
- Ability and willingness to assist other departments on an as needed basis.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 50 pounds as needed throughout a standard 8-hour shift
- Accurate and precise hand eye coordination
- Able to stand, sit, move, kneel, and/or bend for extended time periods over an 8-hour shift
- Must be available to work nights and/or weekends as required
Education and Other Requirements:
- Prior cannabis industry experience is preferred and a plus
- Prior experience and understanding of Michigan compliance regulations preferred is a plus
- Utilizes critical thinking to troubleshoot issues, work collaboratively with a team to brainstorm solutions, and implement improvement solutions
- Must be able to work expeditiously without compromise to quality/integrity of work
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Education Requirements: High School diploma/GED, BA or higher preferred
- Must be able to pass a standard pre-employment background check.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Production Technician (Post Harvest)
Summary:
The Production Technician post-harvest is member of our Operations team responsible for post-harvest trimming, inventory tracking and biomass quality maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Movement of biomass from harvest to post-harvest areas
Operate an automated trimming machine (sitting or standing)
Disease inspection (disease and pest identification)
Keeping accurate documentation and records for all post-harvest activities (weights for trim, flower, waste, etc.)
Following SOPs regarding biomass security, storage, safety and cleaning of areas and equipment
Ensure product and work efforts are in compliance at all times
Daily closing checklist of trim and post-harvest areas
Inspection of work areas, equipment, and uniforms
Other duties as designated by Supervisor
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to perform accurate data entry in Excel and track and trace
Strong verbal and communication skills
Problem solver and team player who approaches problems and opportunities with passion and integrity
High attention to detail and work accuracy
Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Must be at least 21 years of age
May not be convicted of any felony offenses pursuant to state statues and able to pass a state background check
Valid driver's license
Ability to work evenings and weekends when required
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or Bachelor's degree
Expertise in the cannabis industry with post-harvest cannabis operations preferred
