We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager with multi-unit retail or hospitality experience to help facilitate that expansion and deliver our high standards of customer service and retail performance. Cannabis industry experience is not required-just proven accomplishments managing a high-energy business in a rapidly changing consumer marketplace.
The Operations Manager role fuses hands-on retail with senior administrative responsibilities and involves frequent commuting between locations and working with all members of our growing team-from executives to store personnel as well as vendors and contractors. This position is a strategic hire that will work closely with the CEO and COO to ensure a smooth expansion rollout as well as constant monitoring of 20+ key performance indicators.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist senior management in the planning and development of expansion operations by coordinating vendors, consultants, regulators and other managers.
- Deploy (with corporate office admin and finance team members) best corporate practices in office administration, records management, digital file organization, IT security, office-to-retail logistics, and general organization.
- Prepare regular analysis of retail and corporate performance (using data from POS, GL, HR, and other systems) with the intention of reducing cost, improving efficiency, innovating new policies and procedures, as well as inspiring employees and managers to increase their productivity and job satisfaction.
- Manage all contracts for equipment and insurance coverage including annual competitive bidding. Process insurance claims and regulatory reports.
- Maintain a safe and efficient workspace through oversight and regular inspection
- Collaborate with the HR Managers on the proper implementation of OSHA requirements.
- Remain in compliance with all city and state regulations.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a retail or hospitality Director of Operations or Operations Manager
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficiency in: Excel, Word, Google business software, POS, and accounting systems
- Digitally independent in collecting data from typical sources and formatting professional reports
- Must be 21 and undergo a background check after hire
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, occasional weekends based on business demands

Summary/Objective: The Operations Manager Directly responsible for oversight of all administrative and operational functions of the retail dispensary(ies) in accordance with state compliance regulations and company policies and procedures supporting employee engagement levels to achieve customer service excellence and maximize profitability

Essential Functions:
Operational Excellence
- Work closely with GM and Sales Manager to exceed sales volume and KPI goals
- Model an environment of open communication by sharing enterprise strategy and corporate messaging to associates
- Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring all store standards and operation procedures are met, including workplace safety, inventory control, compliance and loss prevention.
- Deliver results and strategic direction by ensuring day to day operations run smoothly through the store team.
- Understands merchandise flow standards; backroom organization and how it effects floor set execution, replenishment and recovery and the overall in store brand experience.
- Oversee all ingestion, inventory adjustments and proper documentation of inventory deliveries.
- Ensure store is audit compliant and achieves acceptable scores.
- Work with cross-divisional teams to build consensus on strategic objectives, goals and operational plan.
- Provide leadership, training, guidance and support to team members that foster continuous learning and improvement on operational plans.
- Promote a culture of teamwork by working alongside the Leads, associates and management team, establishing priorities, and providing clear direction.
- Write and deliver on Operation Lead and Associate performance in partnership with GM and HR to determine succession plans and build bench strength.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position is responsible for holding the Operations team accountable for policy and procedures, compliance, ingestions and all other operational objectives of Project Cannabis operational initiatives.
Travel: 20% Local travel between retail locations within Los Angeles; out of town travel as required for attendance at company sponsored trade shows/events.

This job operates in a professional retail store environment. The use of standard office equipment and POS systems are required. This position regularly requires a flex schedule, long hours, nights and weekend work and holiday availability. Schedule subject to change based of the needs of the business.
