Cannabis Laboratory Technician Ma Jobs

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a technical position responsible for the collection and testing of samples of various chemical compounds and biological specimens. Daily work involves the routine and repetitive use of various types of machinery, lab equipment and programs to perform tests, record data or findings and present information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepares and weighs product samples; performs repetitive/routine testing activities to include accessioning and pipetting
• Documents results pertaining to strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics
• Assembles data and other pertinent information into groups, charts, graphs, reports, and the like for others to evaluate
• Helps to set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for testing activities under the supervision of team analysts
• Utilizes problem-solving skills to help to determine when an apparatus may need to be recalibrated or requires servicing
• Restocks inventory supplies used in various testing activities; provides for the weekly cleaning of glassware
• Records and verifies log entries for various pieces of equipment/apparatus including balances, incubator, refrigerator/freezer, etc.
• Complies with all established safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations designed to ensure a safe work environment
• Expected to perform other job-related duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

General Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to fluently speak and read the English language along with understanding and following both written and verbal direction
• Ability to function independently, have personal integrity, flexibility and the ability to work effectively with fellow employees
• Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations in different units of measurement
• Ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios; demonstrated abilities in troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Basic knowledge of modern office practices and use of Microsoft Office Suite for Word and Excel
• Experience in driving tasks and meeting deadlines; accountable for the completion of assigned goals and objectives
• Ability to build relationships to strengthen partnerships with a focus on customer service
• Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.

Education, Licenses/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred
• Prior experience in the Cannabis Industry and/or applicable laboratory experience may be substituted in place of degree

Preferred Experience

• 1-2 years in experience in service based/customer-facing position
• 2 years academic experience in an analytical laboratory setting

The Manufacturing Lab Technician is primarily responsible for operating custom Fixed Automation Machines and equipment. We are seeking a candidate with a good attitude who is interested in developing skills in manufacturing a one of a kind technology. Candidate must be collaborative and motivated to continuously improve. Long term growth and earnings opportunities can be expected with development of skills and experience. Starting Wage is $19.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience. Healthcare benefits and promotion opportunities are available after successful completion of 3 months experience. Additional benefits include paid holidays, vacation and sick leave accrual.

40 hours/week 11:00am-8:00pm with 1 hour meal break, overtime and bonus plans possible.

• Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training, experience, or education desired
• 1 – 2 years of lab or technical work with a desire to learn
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Reads, writes, and speaks English fluently
• Mechanically Inclined
• Reliable and Punctual with good communication skills
• Ability to stand for full 8 hour shift
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Good vision and the ability to distinguish color
• Good manual dexterity
• Ability to problem solve
• Must have an interest in doing high quality work
