ROLE:
TheLaboratory Extractions Manager oversees all scientific operations and personnel, including, but not limited to hiring, training, and professional development. This job includes significant administrative and regulatory compliance duties as well as new product development and a desire to "think outside the box" when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all data generated by the scientific team meet quality control requirements.
- Assist with and provide insight and support in all areas of new product development.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including safety, environmental and documentation requirements.
- Ensure an environment of open communication with all levels of staff and continual improvement.
- Identify and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve laboratory workflow and data quality as financially possible.
- Represents Amado Management, LLC in regulatory meetings, lab industry meetings and events.
- Coordinate with operations personnel to identify and address market opportunities and operational weaknesses.
- Work with laboratory personnel in monitoring quality control to ensure high quality accurate results.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to positively motivate and lead a team.
- Familiarity and working knowledge of kinetic extraction.
- The ability to think outside of the box and create exciting products.
- Be able to design, scale and implement large-scale laboratory projects.
- Resolves conflicts respectfully and in a timely manner, asks for assistance from HR as needed.
- Participates actively in department team and all-staff meetings.
- Must be accessible 7 days a week either on-site or by phone to address any laboratory issues.
- Maintain current knowledge of the science surrounding our product and the regulatory environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies including but not limited to OSHA, AZDHS, etc.
- Provides technical guidance to the facility with respect to any technical questions or new services.
- Responsible for ensuring that all preventative maintenance is performed on all the equipment at the scheduled times.
- Approves any changes to the technical SOPs.
- Designs validation experiments as necessary to validate new processes or procedures or changes to current processes and procedures.
- Periodically audits the staff during process to ensure compliance with SOPs.
- Investigates all adverse events, errors and complaints and documents this investigation and determine the root cause.
- Orders all laboratory supplies and ensures that there is at least a month worth of lab supplies on-hand.
- Approves all purchasing for the laboratory.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in biology, business administration, or a related field.
- MD/PhD preferred and required for a Research Associate position.
- At least five years of experience in an academic or corporate research setting.
- Broad knowledge of scientific principles, theories, and technologies applicable to biological sciences in general.
- Must have excellent critical thinking skills to be able to troubleshoot any issue with the processes and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of management and organizational concepts, principles, and techniques with demonstrated expertise in research administration.
- Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing project needs in evolving situations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in multiple functional areas simultaneously.
