Job Title: Selection Specialist
Reports To: Selection Specialist Manager

Job Summary:
Collect and transport sample from client location to laboratory location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect samples from client locations and transport to laboratory in as safe and efficient manner while following state regulations in a company vehicle
- Keep inventory of essential items needed to perform sampling procedures
- Maintain sterility of samples and sampling kits
- Inform leadership on emerging compliance and customer issues
- Maintain logs relevant to sample collection and sterilization of equipment
- Inform the Senior Driver/Laboratory Manager when vehicles need maintenance
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with people inside the laboratory and people outside the laboratory including customers, regulatory staff and corporate staff
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Additional Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize the laboratory
- Autoclave tongs
- Perform waste disposal
- Perform inventory of laboratory supplies
- Perform other duties as may be assigned

- Knowledge of cannabis industry
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures
- Ability to drive safely to and from client facilities
- Basic knowledge and understanding of seed to sale tracking systems
- Basic understanding of the tests the laboratory performs
- Ability to keep a professional and courteous demeanor in day-to-day operations
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office
- Ability to use computers and computer software programs and systems and standard office equipment such as phones, photocopiers and fax machines
- Good written and verbal communication skills to convey and receive information effectively (face-to- face, telephone and electronic)

Work Schedule:
The position is full time requiring varying shifts Monday through Friday to cover business operations.

The position will be scheduled primarily on weekends (Friday - Sunday) 7am - 7pm with additional hours and weekdays as needed.
Under technical supervision, Laboratory Chemists perform laboratory procedures requiring technical skills and independent judgment in chemistry and microbiology.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform laboratory tests to provide data for use in ensuring patients receive the proper and most pure medication
- Participate in general laboratory techniques such as preparing chemicals and preparing samples for testing
- Make interpretation of data from microbiological plates
- Make microscopic examinations of samples
- Perform review of data entered into Laboratory Information Management System
- Other duties as may be assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or related science required
- Previous analytical chemistry experience required
- GMP/FDA experience preferred
- Knowledge of elementary principles of microbiology and chemistry
- Knowledge of basic clinical laboratory skills
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment

- Approve local SOP's and ensure compliance with ACT Laboratories' procedures
- Review and approve OOS/atypical laboratory result investigations
- Review and approve local CAPA's; track open CAPA's to completion
- Provide local laboratory data in support of management reviews
- Review and approve local change control initiatives
- Review and approve method validation reports done
- Perform periodic internal audits (may also participate in cross-site internal audits)
- Review and approve data prior to reporting to customer
- Liaise with local regulators, state and ISO 17025 external auditors
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in the sciences (chemistry or microbiology preferred)
- Documented training and/or experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures
- Knowledge of required quality systems
- General knowledge of analytical methods for performing data reviews
- Experience with HPLC, GC-Headspace, LC-MS, selective plating and/or ICP-MS preferred
- ELAP/ISO experience preferred
