Responsibilities
- Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Develop and ensure all accounting activities and reporting of financial information follow established processes and procedures, and in compliance with GAAP standards
- Monitor cash balances and forecast cash flow/requirements
- Monitor payables to assure adequate funds are available to meet obligations
- Analysis of cash needs, line of credit monitoring, bank negotiations
- Understand key elements of the Company’s risk profile
- Maintain appropriate insurance records and acts as Company liaison to insurance company
- Report risk issues to senior executives
- Maintain relations with external accountants to evaluate their findings and recommendations
- Coordinate, manage, and facilitate all periodic and annual audits of financial data and accounts, internal controls, etc.
- Manage the enterprise accounting system, ensuring all updates, and maintenance requirements are executed timely and completely.
- Foster organizational awareness by maintaining positive relationships with other business units, departments and third parties, providing exceptional customer service satisfaction
- Plan business objectives, develop organizational policies, coordinate functions and operations between departments or locations, and establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
- Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
- Directs and coordinates formulation of financial programs to provide funding for new or continuing operations to maximize returns on investments and to increase productivity.
- Supports and coordinates with internal stake holders’ real estate acquisitions, mergers, and development of retail space to ensure financial stability and viability
- Create and maintain Company financial SOP’s, recommend updates to enhance efficiency, recommend and develop new policies or processes to support efficiency and scalable revenue growth in the industry
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience as a Controller or Senior Financial Professional or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Previous proven experience in creating and supporting scalable company growth, financial stability and developing strategic initiatives
- Previous experience in the cannabis industry a strong plus

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Analyst position is with ACT Laboratories, which is a lab that processes cannabis samples to test for safety and compliance with state law. Collect samples from client locations such as cultivation centers and where applicable, transport samples to the laboratory in a safe and efficient manner while following state regulations.
Pay - $15.00 an hour
Schedule – Monday through Friday 6am-6pm; 40 hours a week; Flexibility to work over when needed

Essential Job Functions:
- Keep inventory of essential items needed to perform sampling procedures
- Maintain sterility of samples and sampling kits
- Inform leadership on emerging compliance and customer issues
- Maintain logs relevant to sample collection and sterilization of equipment
- Inform the Senior Driver/Laboratory Manager when vehicles need maintenance
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with people inside the laboratory and people outside the laboratory including customers, regulatory staff and corporate staff
- Clean and sanitize the laboratory

- Perform waste disposal
- Perform inventory of laboratory supplies

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of customer service experience preferred
- Some laboratory experience preferred
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws regarding testing and transport of cannabis products preferred

- Ability to follow standard operating procedures
- Ability to drive safely to and from client facilities (not applicable at New York laboratory)
- Basic knowledge and understanding of seed to sale tracking systems
- Basic understanding of the tests the laboratory performs
- Ability to keep a professional and courteous demeanor in day-to-day operations

Position will work Monday - Friday on the the day shift, with hours that will vary based upon customer need. Position will require driving a vehicle to pick up samples with variable travel routes and travel durations depending upon the client location.
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Selection Specialist will ensure that all product received is managed through the sampling process efficiently and accurately to allow testing to be done by the laboratory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive a vehicle to pick up and return to the laboratory samples from clients
- Receive/check new sample deliveries
- Label and weigh samples
- Log samples into the database
- Maintain complete and accurate records
- Complete and file all applicable paperwork
- Perform data entry/review
- Assist with laboratory duties as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma; Associate degree in applicable scientific field preferred
- Valid driver license

Position will be scheduled primarily on the day shift.
Job Summary:
Oversee the laboratory quality system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Approve local SOP's and ensure compliance with ACT Laboratories' procedures
- Review and approve OOS/atypical laboratory result investigations
- Review and approve local CAPA's; track open CAPA's to completion
- Provide local laboratory data in support of management reviews
- Review and approve local change control initiatives
- Review and approve method validation reports done
- Perform periodic internal audits (may also participate in cross-site internal audits)
- Review and approve data prior to reporting to customer
- Liaise with local regulators, state and ISO 17025 external auditors
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Microbiology or related science preferred
- Documented training Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures
- Previous quality assurance experience in a laboratory preferred
- Knowledge of required quality systems
- General knowledge of analytical methods for performing data reviews
- Experience with HPLC, GC-Headspace, LC-MS, selective plating and/or ICP-MS preferred
- ELAP/ISO experience preferred

ACT Laboratories is currently a seeking a full-time Vice President of Laboratory Operations.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President of Laboratory Operations will perform a number of roles including working with new and emerging customer base to provide technical insight and support; providing guidance and review of key technical documents prior to submission to customers and regulators, working with laboratory leaders to create, monitor and improve upon key performance metrics, overseeing the implementation of key corporate initiatives (e.g. LIMS, new state roll-out plans, implementation of new standardized methodologies across multiple sites etc.).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the sales team to provide technical support for on-boarding of new customers
- Define the necessary work effort in order to begin testing of new dosage forms

Work with laboratory sites and the Finance team to establish long-term capacity and productivity plans
- Support the development and execution of the ACT Laboratories Strategic Plan

Coordinate the selection and implementation of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Work with the Laboratory Operations team to ensure successful design and introduction of new labs within the ACT Laboratories network
- Lead the Laboratory Operations Project Management function
- Oversee the Technical Services function responsible for method development, validation, troubleshooting, facility/equipment maintenance and Analyst training
- Provide technical review of key development documents, which will be provided to customers and/or regulators

Work with customers and ACT Laboratories operations to design and conduct laboratory investigations
- Oversee the implementation of new methodologies across multiple laboratories
Additional Responsibilities:
- Work with internal and external groups to investigate the cause of and resolve key technical issues
- Develop implementation strategies to ensure compliance with emerging state and ACT Laboratories compliance requirements
- Represents COO at key technical meetings and at meetings with state regulators, as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in Chemistry or related science with 10 + years’ experience; or MS degree in Chemistry or related science with 5 years’ experience; or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or related science with 3 years' experience; advanced degree preferred
- Experience in cannabis testing preferred
- Knowledge of analytical laboratory services
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, have big picture thinking and demonstrate attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and to prioritize scheduling of work
- Willingness to travel within the US (50%)
- Able to successfully complete criminal history background information check, assuring no disqualifying records
