Grower Position Summary*
Growers direct and control greenhouse and outdoor production activities to ensure optimum growth, quality, appearance, and health of plants. Grower Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all irrigation and growing activities of an assigned section
- Assist with oversight and training of Grower Assistant and Grower Intern positions to ensure all tasks are effectively prioritized and completed on schedule
- Manage and implement sanitation, cultural, and general growing protocols
- Scouting, tracking, and controlling insect and disease related issues using integrated pest management (IPM) practices
- Apply plant growth regulators, fungicides, insecticides, herbicides and biologicals as required to maintain crop health
- Organized documentation of growing practices, plant progress/timing, and chemical application information
- Walk greenhouse daily to monitor water management, cultural challenges and opportunities, presence of weeds, nutrient requirements, insect and disease pressure, sanitation, overall plant growth, plant health, and aesthetic appearance
- Removal and record-keeping of substandard, diseased, or unsellable plants
- Plant maintenance such as sheering, weeding, cleaning, plant placement etc
- Ensure greenhouse environment is optimized for plant growth with Priva® environmental management software
- Assist and oversee minor greenhouse repairs, winterizing of greenhouse structures, and winterizing of outdoor growing areas
- Plan space allocation for new plants scheduled from production
- Assist and advise production barn to ensure proper planting depth and other pre-set-down activities
- Communicate with production barn to ensure the needs of new plants are met
- Maintains inventory of needed growing supplies such as fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, hoses, etc
- Proven ability to learn new concepts and apply those concepts to a variety of situations to improve growing methodology
- Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and OSHA policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- All other duties as assigned
Grower Skills & Qualifications:
- 1-3 years growing experience and/or college degree.
- Must obtain an Ohio pesticide license within 1 year of hire and maintain active status thereafter
- Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required
- Demonstrated initiative and self-direction
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner
- Thorough knowledge of plant propagation and cultivation

Responsibilities and Duties
- Supports all Retail Managers in maintaining operational functionality of the dispensaries, including ensuring compliance; coaching and managing the leadership team; and ensuring all dispensaries are stocked, clean, in proper operational order, and adhering to Company brand standards
- Maximizes sales by monitoring industry trends, market data, and dispensary sales in order to forecast and drive systems for strong customer service; tracks key performance indicators and applies analysis to merchandising strategies
- Works closely with Operations, Purchasing, and Inventory teams to keep fresh and appealing stock in store
- Oversees curation of goods by setting store planograms and coordinates with Marketing team to achieve optimal visual merchandizing strategy, including seasonal displays and promotions; assists Marketing with content creation for social media
- Works with Marketing to coordinate and advertise in-store events, including establishing community partnerships; maximizes event revenue, efficiency, and quality by improving systems for strong client service, tracking key performance indicators and applying analysis to marketing and operations strategies
- Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including patrons, vendors, and community partners
- Sets clear targets for operational standards and facility management; works closely with Asset Protection to ensure employee and patron safety within the dispensaries
- Builds and maintains a culture of teamwork, communication, collaboration, and meaningful feedback; sets clear goals and expectations for Retail leadership and coaches team on store operations, merchandise placement, and business analysis;
- Maintains comprehensive understanding of industry rules and regulations related to retail in order to uphold compliance standards
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or hospitality required; Master’s in Business Administration preferred
- At least 10 years of executive level management experience in a high-volume retail establishment required
- Proficient in cash handling skills and understanding of overall banking compliance; experienced in POS operations
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle
- Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with state regulations
