Job Description
Xabis is seeking a self-motivated and systematic team member within a production facility in the medical marijuana industry. The individual needs to excel within an independent framework and communicate effectively with management and operational team members. The talented team member will be responsible for inventory tracking, production of finished phytopharmaceutical products, filling operations, packaging and labeling according to strict regulatory guidelines specific to the Texas Codes. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excel under stress, and strive for efficient and timely reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Produces product formulations, batches based on different weight increments and final packaged products to consistent standards and quality, dictated by work orders.
- Keep a precise count of all packaged product and weight(s) of product used for an accurate end of day reconciliation of packaged inventory and remaining inventory
- Communicating inventory purchase requests when applicable.
- Packages and labels products according to strict regulatory requirements.
- Electronically convert packaged products in the state traceability system
- Ensures that all activities are performed safely and in strict accordance with company guidelines; maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Maintains legible and complete records of all production batches.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service when needed.
- Exhibit competency in basic organizational skills, communication skills, mathematical skills and windows based operating software
- Collects all hazardous/non-hazardous waste generated by production processes and transfers to appropriate collection areas.
- Maintains clean and tidy manufacturing equipment and facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Education or GED required
- 1+ years experience in manufacturing operation;
- Knowledge of physical sciences;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Responsive problem solver and action oriented;
- Strong team mentality;
- Strong mathematical skills;
- Proficient using PCs and common applications;
- Employee must be able to follow basic instructions as well as be able to take constructive criticism from their managers so they can help maintain quality standards and production goals
- Must pass an extensive background security check and must be able to obtain a Texas Operations Badge – prior to or at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.A or B.S. in a physical or life science related field;
- Experience in medical Cannabis or other botanical processing operation;
- Experience in Product Development;
- Experience creating Syringes, Tinctures, and Lozenges products;
- Experience with ISO17025, CLIA or similar certification process;
- Understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws;

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Plan, develop, implement, and direct the organization’s operational and fiscal function and performance in the ever-changing cannabis industry
· Create, improve, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization that will improve operational and financial effectiveness of the company.
· Grow revenue and EBITDA to create shareholder value
· Serves as the company's representative to the board of directors, shareholders, employees, and clients
· Manages and directs the company toward its primary goals and objectives
· Oversees the ongoing operations of all areas in the company
· Oversees employment decisions at the executive level of the company
Requirements:
- Entrepreneurial problem-solver who has worked in a startup or fast paced environment
- Successful track record in growing EBITDA and creating shareholder value
- Strong Business Development and operational improvement skills
- Full P&L experience of at least $30M with full knowledge across all functions (operations, sales/marketing, finance)
- Expertise in strategic planning and implementation
- Hands-on, multi-tasking operator who will “roll up their sleeves”
- Prior capital raising experience
- Excellent presentation skills
- Previous experience managing a cannabis company
- B.S. Degree is required
- MBA or Advanced Degree is preferred
- 10+ years of Executive Leadership experience

Xabis is immediately seeking a self-motivated and systematic team member who can take a lead position at a startup cannabis processing operation. The operation focuses on the safe extraction of essential oils from cannabis and manufacturing of various cannabis-based consumer products. You will work side by side with our project implementation engineer on the startup of a production facility in the medical marijuana industry. The individual needs to excel within an independent framework and communicate effectively with multiple parties, including management, client operations, contractors and vendors. The talented team member will be responsible for onsite operational management of a production team covering unit operations in extraction, purification, quality control, manufacturing, and shipping. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer relationship skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, excel under stress, be cognizant of budgetary constraints, and strive for efficient and timely reporting.
The Site Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, commencing of operations, team development, operational management, systems analysis, while meeting the strict regulations specific to the local governing regulations. Specifically, the individual will:
- ensure that all activities are performed safely and in strict accordance with company guidelines; maintains product and company reputation by complying with governing regulations.
- manages all operational activities, including planning and scheduling for production runs, accounting for material availability, orders, and employee scheduling; reports and documents daily production activities.
- oversees all quality control (QC) activities and reporting for materials, bulk intermediates, and finished products; this includes inventory verification using multiple database systems and inventory resupplying.
- maintains positive communications with corporate management, local client, vendors and service providers.
- supervises team of 5-10 technical employees on pilot scale production process to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- provides general backup for employees to ensure production continuity; you will be trained in all aspects of the facility operations.
- assists in scheduling maintenance and repair activities for production equipment and instrumentation.
- revises operating procedures and supporting documentation to reflect optimized operational changes; writes technical documents (protocols, manuals, SOPs, white papers, etc.).
- aides in the hiring and training of site employees; develops site relevant training materials and programs.
- comprehends and adheres to the regulations surrounding related operations, including facility needs, SOP needs, labeling and testing requirements and communicates important summaries to team as needed; stays current on regulatory changes.
Employee Qualifications
- Experience managing or operating mechanical/chemical systems and processes (reactors, machine tools, control systems, etc.).
- Experience in a production plant, manufacturing operation, and/or product development recommended.
- Management experience of a production team a requirement.
- Knowledge of engineering and physical sciences necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Responsive problem solver and action oriented.
- Strong team mentality.
- Proficient using PCs and common applications.
- Must hold a B.S. in related engineering field.
- Knowledge of the cannabis industry.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus.
- Experience with ISO17025, CLIA or similar certification process a plus.
- Must pass an extensive background security check and must be able to obtain a local authority badge – prior to or at the time of hire.
