Salal Credit Union is looking for a Senior Due Diligence Specialist to join our Business Banking team! This person will report to the Business Banking Due Diligence Manager and partner closely with our Business Banking support team to ensure a smooth and stellar experience for our members applying for a business account. This position facilitates new member acquisition by overseeing the new account application process and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Working closely with applicants to gather information about their business, the Senior Due Diligence Specialist will also engage closely with the Business Banking sales team and management to ensure applications are reviewed quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
The Business Banking Due Diligence team interfaces directly with applicants as a primary point of contact during online application process. The Senior Due Diligence Specialist will use discretion and critical thinking to evaluate applications for red flags or discrepancies and escalate concerns to management for review. Conducting research and completing in-depth analysis on each new account is a vital element of this position. This role also communicates frequently with our Business Banking sales team regarding the status of the applications and any pertinent information that results from the due diligence process that should be added to documentation for the account. The Senior Due Diligence Specialist also acts as a primary point of contact for completing requests from the Compliance department regarding account documentation that is needed and will communicate with members to gather the required information.
The Senior Due Diligence Specialist earns a competitive wage of $28.00- -$33.50 per hour depending on experience.
This position is eligible to be performed fully remote for candidates living in AZ, CA, FL, GA, ID, MO, MT, NH, NJ, OK, OR, PA, TX, WA.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Three years of experience working in a financial institution in a position that is focused on opening new business accounts, new account compliance, or BSA..
- Demonstrated comprehension of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification (CIP) requirements.
- Experience working in cannabis related business banking and/or familiarity with Symitar core system is desirable.
- Strong problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.

Salal Credit Union is seeking a Business Officer to join our Business Services team and function as a relationship manager. This role will be responsible for a portfolio of medium-sized businesses and complex accounts including managing and servicing intricate accounts and cannabis-related businesses across the southern region of the state. Business Officers are also responsible for generating new business opportunities for Salal Credit Union. Some new business will be generated through referrals but successful candidates for this role must be comfortable with cold-calling and networking to generate new leads.
The position requires predominant work from home and the ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of member data. Outreach activities will include networking with professionals in the community and participating in local civic and cultural activities to bring new business clients to the credit union. Travel to business clients will be required and compensated with mileage reimbursement. Overall compensation will be a combination of base salary plus a variable compensation plan. The range for the base salary is $74,000-103,000 annually.
Business Officers have the chance to contribute to their team and the overall success of Salal. They must successfully complete duties that include:

Manage and maintain a positive relationship with a portfolio of business members and influence them to use a variety of the credit union's services.
- Maintain a strong understanding of clients' businesses and industries.
- Develop new profitable business relationships.
- Source business and commercial real estate loans as part of seeking out new business to achieve production goals and on-going satisfaction of business relationships.

Provide superior service before, during, and after onboarding of new businesses.
- Manage the client implementation process reviewing new account documents for completeness and eligibility, write new account application summaries, schedule and track the implementation and training of users of Business Services including current NACHA rules as applicable.
- Prepare account analysis comparisons for prospective clients and present proposals for credit union's business services.
- Ensure correct and timely entry of account analysis billing entries for Cash Management services for your business portfolio.
- Complete any Cash Management account compliance monitoring required on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for business portfolio.
Qualified applicants will have:
- At least 5 years of financial institution experience in a sales and business development capacity.
- Business and commercial real estate lending knowledge.
- Strong problem solving, organizational and time management skills.
- College degree or equivalent experience is preferred; a high school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
