Mystique of Maine now hiring Part-Time Budtenders for our recreational store in Portland.
We are looking for motivated, professional retail leaders to support our management team in the day-to-day operations in our dispensary
Responsibilities to include:
- Strong customer service skills. Ability to assist wide range of patients/customers with questions and information. Our customers are our number one priority.
- Support all store tasks, compliance, and training of new associates.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of the team
- Detail oriented, this position requires daily record keeping and strict compliance with state rules and regulations.
- Ability to use all operating systems including pos terminal, scanners, Ipads
- Opening and closing of the store, all tasks assigned to daily running of the store based on need and/or management direction. Inventory management, adherence to store standards and organization.
- Working in Grow House, kitchen and Head House as needed.
- Duties there may include filling vape carts, helping bag and tag edibles, labeling
- Other duties and tasks on an as needed basis
Requirements

Job Brief
Mystique of Maine is a licensed recreational and medical cannabis facility that is looking for a Head Grower to oversee operations at our greenhouse facility located in Auburn Maine. An ideal applicant will be able to define and implement cultivation processes that result in consistent, high-quality harvests year-round.
The facility is a modern cannabis greenhouse with automated light deprivation and LED grow lights. Experience working in this type of facility is preferred.
You must be capable of defining a clear cultivation plan and managing a small group of enthusiastic employees to consistently deliver on that plan.
Core Expectations
· Monitor growing conditions and oversees changes in humidity, moisture and temperature and cultivation procedures; adapting as the facility environment changes throughout the seasons.
· Create and execute a scouting plan that monitors both plant development and health to recognize and rectify problems early.
· Build and communicate requirements and standards for pest control, including scouting plans, pressure limits as well as handle the ordering and application of beneficial insects.
· An understanding of the strict regulations in place for both medical and recreational cannabis in Maine for the purpose of creating a growing plan that balances compliance with efficiency.
· Balance multiple generations of plants, managing their separate needs, planning for repotting cycles so that labor is efficiently spaced and plants are always are in their ideal growing medium.
· Maintaining and managing health of mother plants, or creating a perpetual harvest plan that involves taking cuttings from plants entering flower.
· Understanding and adapting to different space requirements across multiple cultivars
· Create and communicate a watering and amending or fertilizing schedule dependent on style of watering, facility limitations, cultivars, age of plants, and growing substrate.
· Design standards and educate employees on proper structuring, trimming and training methods and expectations for the plants at different stages.
· Maintain inventory of needed growing supplies such as fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides
· Maintain records of growing techniques and yield data; review records and reports to identify trends and to forecast future space and production needs.
· Determines rates of herbicides, pesticides and fungicides as required by the crops and applies and/or directs the application of them. Knowledge of the limited available chemical or organic controls specific to cannabis is essential.
· Maintains a current knowledge of growing techniques and technologies and regulation changes
· Ability to forecast harvest dates.
· Provide input into equipment and facilities upgrades and replacement.

Experience/Education
· 4 year degree in Horticulture or some related field, or at least 4 years experience in a relevant position.
· Must understand the use of injectors, electrical conductivity and pH meters, and irrigations systems.
· Thorough knowledge of water lines and be aware of and monitor conditions such as ventilation, light conditions, temperature and humidity.
· Must have in depth knowledge of the safe handling and application of chemicals such as fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and fungicides.
· Pesticide license is required.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with high humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and apply 20 pounds of force frequently in order to lift and move product.
· Ability to balance, reach and grasp while climbing on a step stool and/or ladder.
· Ability to crouch, grasp, and lift product above shoulders in order to lift product from the floor properly.
· Ability to be on your feet while performing job responsibilities.
· Ability to sit for long periods of time depending on your position and/or getting up and down through your work shift.
Required Work Schedule and other requirements
The position requires a minimum 40 hour work week, however, someone will need to be present in the greenhouse every day. There will be freedom to coordinate this with the assistant grower with the understanding that the responsibility will ultimately land on the head grower to ensure the plants are tended to daily.
Schedule flexibility and willingness to working weekends and holidays is important.
Applicant will need to pass a background check and be able to acquire a Maine Individual Identification Card (IIC) and possess valid pesticide license.
Experience with Metrc seed-to-sale tracking is preferred.

Mystique of Maine is a licensed recreational and medical cannabis facility that is looking for a Assistant Grower to assist with operations at our greenhouse facility located in Auburn Maine. An ideal applicant will be able to work closely with the Head Grower, executing against their designed plans with the experience necessary to identify problems early, allocate their labor load to other employees, and carry out daily tasks on their own.
Relevant experience includes but is not limited to greenhouse production, growing and propagating, and any cannabis specific cultivation.
The most important aspect of the position is the ability to be thorough and present in your daily tasks. Enough experience to recognize and communicate problems early on, as well as independently correct small problems is essential. Understanding what tasks are most important, and time budgeting so that all the designed goals can be met on time is an important quality as well.
An assistant grower will be expected to work with the Head Grower to create a schedule that ensures someone is present in the greenhouse every day. This may mean working weekends and holidays, and the ability to work alone without direct instruction.
Qualifications
· Eligible to legally work in the United States and 21 or older as required by the state of Maine
· Must be able to pass a background check and acquire an Individual Identification Card (IIC) and a Maine Caregiver Assistant card
· Comfortable working with computers. Experience with Metrc seed-to-sale tracking, Microsoft Word, and Excel is preferred.
· Valid Maine pesticide license or ability to obtain one
· Cultivation and greenhouse experience is preferred
Core Expectations
· Recognize and maintain proper environmental factors, and clearly communicate any problems you see to the Head Grower.
· Complete watering and feeding routine which includes the ability to measure and read the relevant pH and EC equipment as well as watering plants thoroughly and correctly.
· Scout and report on disease, insect, and environmental problems.
· Perform daily inspections of several generations of plants with the ability to recognize problems early and report them to the Head Grower.
· Recording and maintaining data sets related to plant health, size, phenotype selection, and watering and feeding schedules.
· Communicating when more labor will be needed ahead of time and the ability to educate other employees on how to properly assist in greenhouse tasks.
· Basic greenhouse cleanliness and task completion which includes but is not limited to, watering, pruning, transplanting, organizing plants, preparing growing media, cleaning and general maintenance.
· A basic understanding of the strict regulations in place for recreational cannabis cultivation in Maine and a willingness to work within those requirements.
· The ability to learn Metrc and input the data required to satisfy the states seed-to-sale tracking requirements.
· Attention to detail and ability to follow direction and a schedule designed by the Head Grower.
· Desire to learn and ask questions to better understand the task at hand
· Cleanliness and attention to detail to minimize diseases and pests.
· Use algebra and basic math to assist in synthesis of harvest data.
This is a manual labor position which requires heavy lifting and which involves repetitive tasks. This position operates within greenhouses which can reach elevated temperatures.
