Job Overview
The Human Resources Specialist reports to the President and receives additional direction and support from the HR Director. The Generalist is accountable for overseeing all HR-related responsibilities for Halo Collective and Budega Retail stores within the CA market. The HR Generalist works as an HR Business Partner to the Operations team and as a partner to the field operations team to align company goals and objectives with the day-to-day operations. The goal outside of operations partnership is to meet local, state, and federal compliance. This role must be filled by an individual with experience in leading the HR function with outstanding people skills and progressive knowledge of HR laws and regulations. The HR Generalist must be proactive in a way that ensures efficiency, risk management, engagement, continuous improvement, and talent development.
The HR Generalist is responsible for providing best in class full-cycle People Relations services, working across the business to improve upon ways of working, efficiencies, and proactive approaches to leading people and managing processes. The person in this role should bring best-in-class HR experience, be proactive, extremely organized, possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, full and complete knowledge of labor regulations and HR practices, strategic thinking, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Onboarding Experience: Facilitates the new employee experience tasks through our onboarding platform, sends new hire communications, initiates background checks, orders hardware/software equipment, coordinates equipment delivery with Operations, conducts check-ins with new hires, and ensures completion of new hire safety and training requirements.
- Offboarding Experience: Arranges exit interviews, processes exit paperwork and transactions for departing employees, coordinates return of assets with Operations team, works with payroll team to process final pay, and closes all appropriate exit items.
- Data Integrity: Responsible for collecting, entering, and auditing employee data in our people systems (HRIS, performance, learning and development, Internal Communication platform).
- Administration & Communications: Assists with payroll transactions, calculates overtime for non-exempt employees, benefits administration, and workers’ compensation claim administration. Prepares correspondence for employees due to work/life events (i.e., offers, salary increases, relocations, transfers, exits, unemployment, etc.), audits employee population for local/state/federal compliance standards etc.
- People Initiatives/Programs: Assists with internship program, open enrollment, mentorship program, and similar programs. Partners with learning and development on logistics of trainings and initiatives. Partners with HR Director and the Operations Team on continuing to drive agency culture through training and development initiatives, social events, team meetings, etc.
- Training & Development: Implement and train employee on Company Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with these important policies and procedures. Oversee safety and compliance trainings including harassment prevention training.
- People Matters: Assists with Leave of Absence (LOA) requests, resolves everyday transactional questions (like benefits & policies), oversee ADA accommodation request and interactive process, directs employees to the right tools/resources.
- Employee Relations: Assists with HR related investigations, complaints, employee grievances and provides consultative recommendations to business partners and department heads. Draft incident reports, investigation reports, and similar documentation.
- Performance Management: Support disciplinary process, using creative problem solving and actionable steps in recommending corrective action. Tae appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations. Draft performance improvement plans. Coordinate performance review process to ensure timelines are met and records are accurately maintained. Lead termination procedures, as needed.
- Compensation Management. Tie performance appraisals to compensation structure and conduct compensation analysis to ensure pay sales match industry and location standards.
General Responsibilities
- Anticipating the needs of the supporting department heads.
- Responsible for recruiting for all levels from executive recruitment to front line team members.
- Administrative tasks related to the Human Resources and Employee Relations functions.
- Contribute to, and may have project ownership of, certain processes for HR-related initiatives.
- Manage headcount and create job descriptions for open positions.
- Partner with leadership to create, plan, and execute culture building activities and events.
- Support team with ad hoc projects as needed.
- Support and facilitate organizational changes.
- Mentor and provide guidance to all internal clients on career development and succession planning.
Additional Responsibilities
- Oversee administrative functions of retail scheduling and auditing.
- Training on local, state, and federal laws to protect the interest of the entire organization.
- Partner with legal to ensure that we are complaint with reporting, documenting and any vulnerabilities.
- Additional duties as assigned by leadership team.
Required Skills/Abilities

Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or combination equivalent work experience.
· Experience directly supporting administrative and field teams.
· SAP experience and/or other related HRIS programs.
· Project management experience.
· Proven consulting and/or change management experience.
· Proficient in Excel and other compatible MS programs.
· Experience in cannabis and retail industry preferred.
· SHRM certification or other HR industry equivalent.

The role of a Customer Account Manager will be full-time, working with Retail Locations (dispensaries/delivery services) on a daily basis.
The Primary focus will be fostering relationships with owners, buyers and managers (decision makers).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be the representative of Halo Lab’s portfolio of Cannabis based products.
- Manage a geographical territory that is clearly defined by Counties & or list of Retailers.
- Assume responsibility for building and maintaining strong relationships with accounts.
- Work closely with the Distribution team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of orders.
- Evaluating, marketing and sell-through opportunities and tracking key trends in cannabis product as it relates to the wholesale/retail space.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain an open line of communication with the accounting department and if needed, help with collection efforts on current and or past due receivables.
- Coordinate and support customer appreciation events and employee training for Retail partners.
- Negotiate merchandising agreements with Retail partners in order to secure optimal product placement.
- Possess an intimate knowledge of all accounts and provide feedback for improvement and market research to senior staff.
- Manage monthly Travel & Expense(T&E) budgets and submit expenses in a timely manner.
- Track dollar volume of all brands and ensure that all monthly goals are met.
- Attend monthly team sales meetings. These are required and may come in the form of a conference call, a half day in person meeting or a multi-day event in Southern CA, Northern CA, or Central CA.
GENERAL JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Account Managers will provide weekly pre-plans detailing customers who need attention and the specific needs to be addressed. Visiting 6 to 8 accounts per day should be the goal. Pre-plans should include notes detailing the results from the previous week’s activity.
- Quotas shall be assigned each month. These may include overall dollar volume, new accounts opened, placement of specific product with Retailers not previously carrying them, monthly dollar volume with specific Supplier products, planning and executing a set number of employee education events etc.
- Account Managers shall work closely with their team to coordinate in-shop demo days and employee education events.
- Travel to accounts (100%)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- HS Diploma or equivalent required. Must be 21 or older
- Bachelors or Associates in business or equivalent ideal.
- 1 -3 years of Cannabis experience required, preferably in CA markets.
- 5+ years strong Sales experience in competitive markets
- Preferably currently living in Southern CA region.
- Must have valid driver’s license, reliable automobile and proof of insurance.
Salary: $30,000.00/yr.

The key function of the Accounts Payable Clerk is to assist the Controller in processing all payables in QuickBooks.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for managing full cycle accounts payable process. Including,
- Purchase order management:
- Reviewing purchase orders for completeness of documentation.
- Match purchase orders, receiver, and bill of lading to vendor invoice.
- Review, verification, and input of vendor invoices.
- Process check requests, wires and ACH payments.
- Reconcile and manage corporate credit cards. Investigate unsupported charges.
- Run and monitor the AP aging report.
- Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
- Month end closing tasks, including journal entries.
- Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash
- Compliance and management of IRS filing requirements:
- W9’s
- 1099’s
- 8300’s.
- Recommend improvements to underlying processes and systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skill/Abilities

Halo Labs is one of the largest cannabis companies in the United States. With operations in three states, and two countries. Our US operations are in Oregon, Nevada and California. Our international partnership is located in South Africa.
Halo is currently hiring for General Farm laborer's to help us on our 6 acres of cannabis in Rogue River, OR. The positions are full-time, benefits eligible positions.
