Food Production Technician
Job Summary
Green Sprout Labs, a cannabis extraction and purification facility, seeks a Food Production Technician for the formulation and production of marijuana infused edibles for both the medicinal and recreational cannabis markets. The Food Production Technician carries out day-to-day tasks including prepping, cleaning, cooking, and operating basic production machinery as well as maintaining a safe working environment, upholding GMP and FDA standards. Produce infused products in accordance with state and local laws as well as Green Sprout Labs standards.
Core Duties
- Food Production [60%]
- Work with packaging and lab staff to set weekly and monthly production schedules
- Daily production of baked goods, chocolates and confections using commercial machinery.
- Organize and inventory ingredients and other kitchen production supplies at the facility.
- Place ingredient orders with approved vendors, log and date each shipment.
- Process improvement related to food production and cleanup processes.
- Product formulation in concert with remainder of lab team.
- Develop expertise in cannabis infusion.
- Quality Management [20%]
- Maintain production logs, lab test results and QC retain samples, vendor coordination/ordering.
- Demonstrate an understanding of federal, state, and county health department requirements for food production facilities. Handle preparation for periodic inspections.
- Maintain a clean and safe production facility.
- Ensure personal hygiene of self and others is acceptable under company and legal standards before performing any production activities by washing hands, wearing a hair net, changing clothes, etc.
- Complete the sanitation of production equipment and tools including workspace, production and packaging equipment, cookware and appliances.
- Operating within and contributing to a quality management system (QMS).
- Contribution to and authorship of GLP/GMP practices.
- Authorship of and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Other Duties as Assigned [20%]
- Packaging of finished goods
- Shipping and receiving of raw materials and finished goods
- General cleaning and maintenance of lab space
Required Experience, Education, and Skills
- Experience in a field and/or operation that adheres to strict health and safety policies and procedures such as food, packaging, contract packaging or manufacturing environment. Preferably a regulated field producing products for human consumption.
- Strong preference for food science education or experience.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of recipes, food production and kitchen sanitation.
- Willing to submit and pass a criminal background check. A pending charge or conviction within the past 10 years for a controlled substance-related felony may invalidate hiring eligibility unless written permission is given by the licensing agency.
- Strong interpersonal skills including excellent communication, ability to listen, empathize, be flexible in his/her thinking, and build consensus.
- Strong and effective task-management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to stand for at least 6 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds to torso level is necessary.
Desired Experience, Education, and Skills
- BS in chemistry, food science, or related field.
- Applicants should have a strong desire to develop into a subject matter expert (SME) on the processing and infusion of cannabis-derived materials.

Lead Chemist
Job Summary
Green Sprout Labs, a cannabis extraction and purification facility, seeks a lead chemist for the extraction and distillation of biologically derived materials for both the medicinal and recreational cannabis markets. The lead chemist maintains quality control measures to ensure high quality product and carries out day-to-day tasks including: prepping, extracting, and formulation. The lead chemist must monitor and maintain the facility in accordance with state and local regulations as well as the standards set by Green Sprout Labs.
Core Duties
- Production Chemistry [60%]
- Preparation of dried cannabis for extraction
- Extraction of active and inactive (aesthetic) media from bulk bio-materials
- Distillation and purification of extracts
- Process improvements related to wet chemistry and laboratory processes
- Product formulation in concert with remainder of lab team
- Production planning, delegation, prioritization, and help
- Quality Management [20%]
- Operating within and contributing to a quality management system (QMS)
- Contribution to and authorship of GLP/GMP practices
- Authorship of and adherence to standard operating procedures
- Documentation and review of data for all in-lab processes
- Subject Matter Expert [10%]
- Develop expertise in cannabis extraction
- Develop expertise in new extraction technology and its application to final consumer products
- Other Duties as Assigned [10%]

Extraction Technician
Job Summary
Green Sprout Labs, a cannabis extraction and purification facility, seeks an extraction technician for the extraction and distillation of biologically derived materials for both the medicinal and recreational cannabis markets. The extraction technician executes the day-to-day extraction, distillation, and maintenance processes. The extraction technician must work in accordance with state and local regulations as well as the standards set by Green Sprout Labs.
Core Duties
- Production Chemistry [70%]
- Preparation of dried cannabis for extraction
- Extraction of active and inactive (aesthetic) media from bulk biomaterials
- Distillation and purification of extracts
- Process improvements related to wet chemistry and laboratory processes
- Proper maintenance of equipment & facility
- Inventory management
- Quality Management [20%]
- Operating within and contributing to a quality management system (QMS)
- Contribution to and authorship of GLP/GMP practices
- Authorship of and adherence to standard operating procedures
- Documentation and review of data for in-lab processes
- Electronic tracking/moving of flower and processed material through METRC

Required Experience, Education, and Skills
- Qualified applicants will possess an AS (2-year degree) in chemistry/biochemistry (or an aligned field). Significant experience in extraction and purification of bio-derived materials may be substituted for education.
