CB Laboratories Lab Manager
CB Laboratories is seeking a qualified lab manager for our Novato, CA lab. We are looking for a dynamic, self-starter who is interested in growing with our company. CB Laboratories is a cannabis compliance testing lab. Previous management experience is not required.
Laboratory Manager Responsibilities:
- Manages direct reports
- Responsible for the overall operation and administration of the laboratory
- Oversee and maintain methods and SOPs making sure that they are up to date and compliant
- Availability to staff during working hours
- Help to conduct interviews and staff reviews
- Ensure that the laboratory is compliant with ISO and BCC requirements
- Coordinate and implement employee training
Required Skills and Experience:
- Advanced understanding of analytical chemistry and analytical methodologies
- Experience with three or more of the following: LC, LC/MS/MS, GC/MS, ICP-MS, and PCR
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team, self-motivating, and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, and follow instructions
- Adept at interpretation of LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, LC, and GC/MS data
- Strong background with analytical chemistry techniques, methods, and calculations
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Method development and R&D experience a plus
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in relevant field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or chemical engineering. Experience may be substituted for education.
- At least 2 years laboratory experience, preferably in a regulated environment (environmental, pharmaceutical, etc.)

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Job Overview: CB Labs is a cannabis testing lab in Novato, CA looking for motivated and experienced Sales Account Manager, the ability to build account relationships. This position executes on sales strategies, builds productive relationships to develop new accounts and maintain ongoing account management.
Responsibilities
· Manage book of cannabis business’ and make productive contact with existing clients to grow business through establishing relationships.
· Connect through multiple customer touchpoints
· Build rapport to drive business at all levels, customer sizes, and types.
· Utilize all available resources to reach out and generate new leads/prospects and turn those prospects into customers.
· Stay on top of industry trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth. Knowledge of the cannabis industry
· Follow all state, local, and company rules and ensure conformance to all laws.
· Collaborate with the management and science team to gain clear insight on goals and planning.
· Prospect new accounts in Northern California through your own existing network in addition to continued networking and prospecting efforts via email, phone calls, and in-person visits.
· Actively check on competitive activity and report to company leadership and other sales and marketing team members
· Monitor account performance to problem solve any issues that may arise either on your own or with the support of the team.
· Cultivate new accounts.
· Prospect new accounts in Northern California through your own existing network in addition to continued networking and prospecting efforts via email, phone calls, and in-person visits.
· Negotiate pricing and terms while maintaining margin
· Expanding market share for our brand within California.
· Effectively split time between fieldwork and administrative responsibilities. Expect upwards of 75% of your time to be spent in the field.
Requirements:
· 1-3 years outside sales experience
· Must be 21+ and possess a current valid CA Drivers License and reliable mode of transportation

· Knowledge of the Cannabis Industry
Compensation
Base Salary Range $65,000 – $80,000

Job Overview: This position will be responsible for performing chemical extraction procedures on a variety of cannabis and hemp products as well as performing sample preparation and analysis for cannabinoid content and other analytes using one or more of these instruments; HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS, and PCR. Perform lab start up and shut down duties. Additionally, include ability to perform the full range of laboratory technician assignments and directing the overall extraction and preparation of samples for analysis.
Responsibilities

· Follows and ensures strict lab safe environment
· Produces reliable and precise data to support scientific investigation
· Operates standard lab equipment (i.e. scale, centrifuge, pipets, vortex, sonicator)
· Carries out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies and SOP’s
· Maintains a clean laboratory
· Maintains client records. Protects client confidentiality by adhering to state and federal privacy laws.
· Directs lab resources to efficiently perform extraction and sample preparation
· Understands rules and regulations that apply to analytical sample preparation and analysis
· Keeps tabs on lab resources and tracks use of consumables.
· Directs projects focused on improving extraction methods
· Actively training to learn one analytical workflow with goal of becoming proficient to perform that systems sample analysis
· This position uses considerable judgment in making decisions requiring the interpretation and application of extraction techniques
· Follow detailed Quality System documentation relevant to responsibilities, including the Quality Manual, SOPs, methods, and protocols. Adhere to the proper handling and transport of laboratory test samples.
· Performs duties relating to lab and instrument upkeep
· Maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate and verify instrument performance
· Independently carries out analytical testing analyses
· Maintain detailed documentation to ensure we are compliant with required standards
· Proficient in the use of basic laboratory hardware such as analytical balances, pipettes, vortexers, and centrifuges.
· Perform laboratory house-keeping duties such as cleaning glassware, making solutions, and tracking reagent inventory.
Qualifications
· MUST BE OVER 21 YEARS OLD
· Degree, BS or MS in Physical, Chemical, or Biological Sciences
· 3-5 years experience in a laboratory setting with knowledge applicable to HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS and quality management systems.
· Knowledge of OSHA, or HIPAA regulation, and HAZMAT guidelines preferred
· Experience with basic laboratory tasks such as pipetting
· Know basic mathematic calculations related to chemistry
· Experience with software applications such as MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
· Be meticulous and detail-oriented
· Ability to read, speak, write, understand, and follow English verbal and written instructions
· Ability to work collaboratively with a team and/or independently
· Ability to perform tasks in a high-volume production environment
· Capable of organizing multiple tasks, using time management skills
Compensation
Base Salary Range - $70, 000-$80,000 BOE
