Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide solution-oriented consultative training, technical support, and troubleshooting of bioMérieux’s Food Business Segments. Manage and generate organic revenue growth for bioMérieux through sales and support of consumables and software applications in existing customer accounts.
Responsibilities:

- Suggest & Implement Laboratory workflow solutions.
Report Sales productivity and client feedback
- Track critical / lost accounts.
- Troubleshoot process and product issues.
- Design and coordinate solutions for client.
- Provide evaluation support for product comparisons.
- Report client satisfaction and needs.
Create new revenue opportunities.
- Prospect & Qualify leads for new sales opportunities
- Promote bioMérieux products and services through product demonstrations, evaluations, or Site Visits.

Studies and Experience:
- BS in Microbiology or related biological science preferred
- Three (3) years laboratory experience in microbiology laboratory preferred
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of laboratory workflow
- Knowledge of Food industry segments helpful (Dairy, Beverage, Meat/Poultry, Cannabis, Nutraceuticals)
- Self-driven with strong organization and communication skills
- Knowledge of bioMérieux Industry microbiology instruments a plus.

Position Summary:
The purpose of this job is to oversee the company's overall strategy for Innovation Solutions Management of the xPRO product line, including Digital Solutions (CONNECT-UP, EMAP) and Predictive Genome Services (PDIC functions). This is accomplished by managing and leading product launches and other activities as required. The Innovation Solutions Marketing Manager will establish and execute the announcement strategy into a detailed Go-To-Market (GTM) execution plan and determine budget requirements, commercial strategies that support revenue targets and growth objectives, working with the Chief Business Officer of Invisible Sentinel to align with regional and global objectives.
This position is responsible for defining GTM milestone timeline to align GTM deliverables with major checkpoints, define team structure and governance model to effectively drive launch execution, establish detailed and executive dashboard & success metrics in the area of messaging & core content, field enablement, public reveal, leads & revenue generation, and customer adoption. Also included are setting sales budgets, forecasting of future business, pipeline consistency and process enforcement. This is a critical launch management role and one that requires a deeply fundamental understanding of technical leadership in directing the efforts of cross-functional project team in the development and production release of all relevant project deliverables in compliance with the product development process and customer expectations in a dynamic, rapidly changing business landscape.
Context of the Job and Major Challenges:
The job directly affects the short and long-term sales and strategic objectives of the company as it pertains to growing bioMérieux business interests in the U.S. and Global. The U.S. bioFOOD Industrial Market for bioMerieux, Inc. includes, but is not limited to, Nutraceutical, Dairy, Beverage, Animal Protein, Cannabis, Service Laboratory and Government Accounts. Objectives include sales, support, pricing, product mix, and market share in the positioning of reagents and various instrumentation used for microbiological testing and analysis. Areas of the business consist of environmental monitoring, quality, sterility, and organism identification, genomics, and predictive analytics.
Routine internal contacts with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Predictive Diagnostics Innovation Center R&D, Customer Service, Customer Support, Field Service, Production, and Supply Chain is required in developing and delivering these compelling 'value propositions for change' to the customer. External responsibilities will include Customer facing discussion, market assessments and support of corporate or regional initiatives with key opinion leaders or Strategic Accounts, and agency direction in the creation of materials essential for the success of the xPRO Innovation, Digital Solutions and Predictive Genome Services product ranges. A key element of the role will be developing compelling sales support materials including training, messaging, ideal customer target lists, and development of value positioning for commercial teams. The successful owner of the product ranges will be able to combine feedback from the customer, the field sales & support organizations, and the service/support teams to create the necessary outputs to maximize sales performance. The xPRO Innovation, Digital Solutions and Predictive Genome Services product ranges are an important component of FOOD segment strategies and this role operates within a matrix organization. The successful candidate will be able to manage launches, promotions, support instrument and application needs that span the complete Food market working with colleagues across the region accordingly. A complete understating of new launch, demand planning, forecast creation, supply chain, and post launch analysis processes within the U.S. and Global teams will be necessary to ensure that the xPRO, Digital and PDIC portfolio is properly positioned to meet the needs of the customer.
Responsibilities:
This position requires ability to take initiative, work independently & with integrity, yet able to take direction, while maintaining strong influence leadership skills. Additional behavioural competencies should include adaptability, flexibility and ability to work under pressure, good time management skills and good communication all while supporting Sales in meeting or exceeding the specific product revenue targets and growth objectives. Position Summary:
The Scientific Affairs Manager will provide dedicated support to the Market Access initiative for the AMERICAS Industry Scientific Affairs Team. The successful applicant is expected to work with the Sr. Director, Scientific Affairs to:
- Enhance bioMérieux’s role as a leading supplier of Food Safety and Quality testing in the US and the Americas.
- Set the direction and focus for improving the bioMérieux sphere of influence with the North American government agencies and the test kit validation agencies including but not limited to the AOAC, Public Health Canada, and the USFDA.
- Increase the understanding of evolving market needs, especially as it relates to the microbiology test kit validations, in various segments of Food Safety and Quality testing including (but not limited to) the Nutraceutical, Dairy, Beverage, Animal Protein, Cannabis, and Service Laboratory.
More specifically, the position entails work in three dimensions:
- Test kit validations: strategic planning, coordination, and execution of the microbiology test kit validations and approvals
- Networking: increase bioMérieux network and influence as measured by the success of the external representation among various stakeholders and the overall contribution to the marketing activities.
- Beta-activities: as measured by the segment-based influence on the product development pipeline especially the microbiology test kit validations.
Responsibilities:

Specific:
- Prepare annual microbiology test kit validation and approval plan.
- Review monthly/quarterly/yearly test kit validations timelines with the Marketing and R&D teams.
- Routinely share test kit validation plans and timely updates with the management.
- Collaborate with bioMérieux US and global teams to achieve agreement on AOAC objectives.
- Strategically plan and budget for external test kit validations.
- Provide management reports and special project reports as required on government agency landscape and external climate for scientific collaboration as it relates to bioMérieux Industry diagnostic testing opportunities.
- Serve as AOAC Study Director for AOAC RI and OMA test kit validations.
- For each bioMérieux test kit validation study: finalize study site proposals/agreements, purchase orders/invoices, study logistics, supplies and preparing final manuscripts for review and approval.
- Key initiative to be engaged with industry and government stakeholders by serving on special committees and positioning for task group appointments. Demonstrate leadership to the constituency and community stakeholders in these organizations.
- Facilitate influence building with the regulatory/public Health agencies, pertinent academic institutions, and key industry members, including at the C-suite level.
- Generate data with a goal to inform the product development pipeline especially on needs for new microbiology test kit validations.
- Generate data to inform the evolving industry trends including niche markets such as (such as but not limited to) plant-based proteins, cell-based foods, and new beverages. Consistently communicate findings within the US Food Management especially on such new opportunities and trends.
Studies and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or postgraduate work in Food Science, Microbiology or Molecular Biology preferred.
- At least 10+ years of management experience with sales or Food Quality and Safety organizations or equivalent experience within bioMérieux.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of the international microbiology testing guidelines, government microbiology testing, and food safety regulations.
- Prior experience with the microbiology test method validation and standardization organization is a must.
- Strong knowledge of the competitive products in the food microbiology diagnostic space.
- Strong skills for oral and written presentations, scientific writing and comprehension, and scientific data analysis and interpretation.
- Good communicator with interpersonal, organizational, teamwork, and collaboration skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Creative analytical ability to assess food safety needs as it applies to government regulations and evolving industry customer needs.
- Profound understanding of how to work with variable datasets, troubleshoot, and extract meaningful information to aid in decision-making.
