What you'll be doing:
- Develop digital marketing strategies for new clients, in partnership with account executives and sales managers, ensuring brand consistency across all client assets (including regular quality checks).
- Spearhead research efforts through data platforms as well as more traditional research avenues, and apply gained insights/data to create pitch-perfect digital briefs, customer journeys and campaign plans.
- Stay up-to-date on current and emerging industry trends, technology, and events to provide the most cutting-edge insights and guidance to clients and the agency at large.
- Monitor and analyze performance across clients' digital channels to track engagement, providing insights from media monitoring, and performance analytics to help optimize client campaigns.
- Collaborate with fulfillment team guiding the development of client facing reporting -- dashboards and reporting memos and lead reporting calls.
- Develop and optimize clients' overall digital content strategy, as well as measure engagement and impact over time.
- Participate in client presentations and business development meetings as an expert in the digital marketing arena to add strategic support.
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- 3-5 years' experience with multiple forms of digital media including social, mobile, video, display and search
- Knowledge of digital media platforms: Google Analytics, Paid and Organiz Search Strategies, Social Media strategies. DMP experience a plus
- Excellent organization, data analysis, and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment supporting multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working within healthcare, education, travel or cannabis verticals is preferred
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) necessary, database (SQL) experience a plus
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field preferred

Event marketing is an exciting and ever-changing category of business.
We’re looking for nimble and flexible candidates interested in taking on the following responsibilities:
- Conceptualizing and reimagining existing full-year events calendar
- Leading project management for all events including developing/managing timelines and deliverables for the team
- Developing event marketing plans while working with our internal creative team to create promotional assets and materials
- Constructing run-of-show schedules, securing speakers, and writing scripts
- Maintaining financial documents and ensuring event profitability
- Running point for event logistics (lead up and day-of) on virtual, in-person, and hybrid events
- Collaborating with Advance Media New York advertising professionals to produce sponsorship packages and sales materials, sponsor lead lists, and generate event sponsorship opportunities
- Thought-sharing with regional and national markets on new event ideas, promotional assets, etc.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Two (2+) years of hands-on, tactical event experience in event planning/coordinating and/or marketing
- Professional experience in fundraising, sales, Board, community or volunteer experience
- High-energy self-starter with creative ideas and drive to bring your vision to life
- Project management skills including the ability to execute details and manage multiple priorities along with urgent deadlines
- Understanding of event marketing best practices with the ability to build and execute event marketing campaigns using traditional, digital, and social channels. Creative asset development by an in-house marketing creative team.
- Event budget management with the ability to track expenses, capture revenue, and ensure profitability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
- On-the-spot trouble shooting skills during event management
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Some after hours and travel required on select event days, all expenses paid
Bonus skills may include:
- Ability to design within Wordpress, MailChimp, Canva Pro and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to create compelling Powerpoint presentations
- Experience with online ticketing platforms
- Experience with online event platforms, technology including Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other platforms

NJ Cannabis Insider is looking for an experienced journalist to lead our coverage of the state’s multibillion-dollar cannabis, hemp and cannabinoid industries. Our established, subscription- based audience is comprised of C-Suite influencers, industry group leaders, lobbyists, politicians and political influencers, legal and security experts, banking and medical experts, and business owners.
This position requires someone who can write and speak fluently about the cannabis space — from plant science, politics and regulatory issues to social justice and economic empowerment concerns — for our growing digital weekly trade vertical and our live event audiences.
The ideal candidate has an ability to juggle narratives, break news, write trend and analysis pieces then turn around and assemble panels of industry experts and moderate monthly live events, whether at a meetup, an all-day multi-panel conference, or a webinar on Zoom.
As the face of the operation, the ideal candidate will be adept at using social media to take the pulse of the industry and lead in conversations, whether it’s in a closed Facebook Group, aTwitter thread, a LinkedIn networking hangout, or fielding subscriber questions on our text messaging service.
This multitasker will report to and work closely with NJ Cannabis Insider’s publisher & editor, setting the content and programming agenda, while also helping to create the weekly product.
The position requires someone who thrives on taking creative chances and finding innovative ways to cover this budding industry.

Essential duties/responsibilities
- With the publisher/editor, help plan overall focus and coverage of written content and monthly events based on established audience and subscriber needs.
- File at least two stories and one industry roundup of about 600 words per week. Solicit, edit and file weekly guest columns by industry experts.
- Assist with production tasks (some editing, proofreading, etc.) to publish each week’s issue on time.
- Help plan and host monthly events, working with colleagues from various departments
(Events, News, Social Media, Marketing, Video).
- Grow and retain our audience through content, social media, events and other networking tools.
- Attend local and out-of-town industry meetings/conferences and business-related social functions (once the pandemic clears).
Required education, experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications or related field required
- Minimum five years’ journalism experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing required
- Proven experience building, maintaining and engaging an active audience
- Ability to work independently under deadline pressure and prioritize tasks appropriately
- Demonstrated reporting, writing and organizational skills
- Solid understanding of news writing, journalistic ethics and story structure
- Experience using social media to source and promote content a plus
- Ability to leverage relationships with sources to deliver content that differentiates from competitors
