About the Position
The E-COMP Account Manager candidate needs to be a self-starter, well organized, highly detailed, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as having a solid commercial lines and workers’ compensation insurance knowledge base and property & casualty licensed. This is a work from home position. The Account Manager serves as the primary contact and liaison with small commercial lines clients; ensures ongoing consistency as well as managing the day-to-day servicing, renewals, focuses on renewal retention and places new business. You’ll collaborate with team members in sales, operations, and account management on a regular basis. Key elements of this position include:
- Service and manage all aspects for small to mid-sized commercial clients and their policies with excellent customer service
- Maintain and continue to develop client and company business relationships
- Retain and manage all policies
- Actively work with existing clients to ensure coverage adequacy
- Answer coverage questions
- Promote growth and retention of existing book through account rounding
- Market when necessary, on renewal and new business
- Inform, educate, and make recommendations to clients about policy coverages, changes, exclusions, and insurance coverage needs
- Stay abreast and maintain detailed knowledge of current market conditions and technical knowledge
- Maintain knowledge / understanding of technology-based tools and solutions
- Use analytical and critical thinking in work processes and communication skills

- Work with adjusters to answer workers’ compensation claims questions
- Document and update agency management system using Applied EPIC and Agency’s propriety pay-go software
- Provide back up for co-workers within the department, as needed

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- 3-5+ years working in insurance customer service
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license
- Knowledge of insurance coverage products
- Excellent knowledge of and effective negotiation skills with insurance carriers and customers
- Ability to provide first class service to assigned accounts
- Ability to identify exposures and provide solutions
- Sets priorities and manages work flow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities

Job Summary: This role is responsible for the development and service of cannabis business through the Spire brand. The Commercial Lines Account Manager performs the essential functions of the position, which include supporting the sales team and service needs of new and existing clients. Responsibilities include new and renewal marketing, cross selling and rounding accounts. Marketing activity is required as part of the position as well as meeting the sales, service, and quality standards adopted by the agency. Individuals in this position generally have at least 3-5 years' experience in both insurance and servicing clients. This role can be remote or from one of our seven Northern Michigan offices.
Job Responsibilities:
Sales
- Pre-qualifies, analyzes prospects' commercial lines coverage needs; recommends coverage and prepares rating quotes and proposals to sell new accounts
- Actively solicits increases in coverage or rounding out accounts through sales to clients at every service contact
- Recommends excess and surplus coverage as needed to meet client insurance needs; educates clients on coverage limitations
- Completes applications for insurance, collects pertinent inforamtion from client, submits to eligible and appropriate carriers, and follows up to ensure timely receipt of policies or quotations
- Actively refers clients to other departments for those lines that they do not work with for solicitation of new business
Retention
- At each service contract, reviews current client coverage and recommends changes in coverage and markets as needed to ensure high quality coverage
- Processes renewals and remarkets as needed
- Assists clients with making coverage changes and completes all service requests for clients
- Informs clients of policy changes, exclusions of coverage and insurance coverage needs
- Generates documents and produces correspondence to satisfy client service requests

The Roots Insurance Agency is looking for our next Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our growing team! The Roots is a boutique independent agency located in Berkley with strong relationships in the business community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Account Manager’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing superior service to clients by answering insurance related questions and discussing product offerings
- Assisting with new business production, including but not limited to new client information intake and quoting
- Complete data entry, including documentation of all conversations with clients and prospective clients, entering new policy information and changes on existing policies into CRM and Applied Epic
- Maintaining strong relationships with both clients and insurance companies
- Delivering insurance proposals and educating customers of coverage options
- Quoting and binding insurance policies
- Cross-selling additional lines of coverage
- Communicate effectively via email and phone
- Assisting clients with claims, billing and the renewal process
- Servicing current clients and their existing policies
- Following renewal process to encourage clients to renew and assist with any renewal issues
- Participating in a wide range of marketing tasks and other important duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent, required
- Minimum 2+ years commercial lines experience
- P & C license attainment required within 60 days of hire
- Agency management software experience, preferred
- Cannabis insurance experience, preferred
