L2 Cannabis Lab Chemist/Technician - Day and Night Shift Available
Volta Biotech
Volta Biotech is a marijuana/hemp processing and refinement company. We can extract 80 pounds every 20 minutes with ethanol - possibly the biggest capacity in the state. On the marijuana side we sell bulk THC distillate (voltabiotech.com). On the hemp side we sell bulk D8 distillate to end-formulators nationwide (vb-labs.com). We're in a new building that is well maintained and well lit with security cameras for 24 hour monitoring.
Our capacity is 3 to 4 liters per hour. We have relationships with distribution companies and brokers and seek our own account executives selling directly to processors that use our distillate. We have some designs for retail products of our own but will take time to formulate the product itself - our focus is on bulk distillate. We do cryogenically cold ethanol extraction, decarboxylation, distillation, homogenizing, and spray drying processes. We also have an analytical HPLC to help with product formulation and verifying plant material from farmers.
We have a chemist that can get our equipment functioning, do troubleshooting, and create product formulations. We need chemists to handle the day-to-day production processes after some training. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who is comfortable on their feet working in the lab doing laboratory tasks most of the day. Familiarity with pumps, hoses, and connections is preferred. Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related Chemistry field experience preferred. Cannabis experience is preferred. Comfortable on forklift is preferred.
The ideal candidate is an individual already experienced with cannabis processing, wants to work with larger equipment, and is excited to join our small team expanding from 5 to 15. Candidate must already be living in the Oklahoma City metro area to be eligible for this job.
