The Opportunity...
Collaborate with the Director of Energy For All to create and implement an outreach strategy to increase number of low-income clients served in Central Valley.
- Assist in creating and maintaining partnerships with community based organizations
- Work with GRID Alternatives staff to coordinate site visits, installations and troubleshooting for clients
- Educate homeowners on the benefits of energy programs, water technology and deliver client training sessions
- Responsible for increasing community awareness and acceptance of GRID Alternatives’ work and mission, including attending and presenting at community meetings and events
- Organizing to assist in outreach efforts
What you need to bring to this role...
- Excellent communication skills: ability to meet with partner organizations, speak to groups about GRID Alternatives’ work, educate low-income families about our services, and be a positive GRID Alternatives representative in the community
- Community outreach experience, or sales/marketing/customer service experience
- Ability to relate to and respect diverse populations
- Available for occasional weekend and evening work
- Able to travel throughout the Central Valley and must hold a valid driver’s license
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Proficient with computers and MS Office; G-Suite platforms
- Hired CA candidates must be able to pass a screening for drugs that are illegal in the state of California, including: amphetamine, cocaine metabolite, opiates, and PCP. This does not include cannabis which is legal in CA.
It would be great if you also had...
- Passion for environmental justice and working with low-income communities, sustainability, affordable housing, and/or the environment
- Experience living and/or working in economically disadvantaged communities and with diverse population
- Salesforce.com CRM is a plus
- Flexible and willing to embrace change, go the extra mile, and bring ideas and energy to a rapidly growing organization
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred but not required
Where you will sit & the places you may go...
This position may require up to 25% travel throughout the Central Valley (Fresno) region. Availability to work nights and weekends may be required.
GRID Alternatives provides vehicles for work travel, and due to COVID-19 current guidelines, we may also require limited personal vehicle use. In the latter instance, GRID will provide travel reimbursement for work-related personal vehicle use in accordance with our payroll schedule. Additionally, all applicants will need a valid driver’s license and good driving record to be considered.

This is a full-time,
TEMPORARY non-exempt position. Hourly pay is $17.50, and the projected end date is June 30, 2022.
