Job Summary
The Technology Project Manager will report into the IT PMO, focusing on the management and coordination of various projects executed within the Information Technology department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the IT, Business Application, Business Intelligence, and Software Engineering teams as well as individuals assigned to critical technology projects throughout the firm. This includes planning and executing projects within their assigned scope and budget. The Technology Project Manager will also be responsible for ensuring proper communication is occurring within the team and with stakeholders, creation of presentations and for helping drive technology change throughout the organization. This role should have experience working directly with stakeholders throughout an organization and have excellent communication, problem solving, and organization skills.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities
- Responsible for identifying key resources and providing the direction required for meeting the project objectives.
- Manages project schedules, progress, and task details, makes adjustments consistent with plan objectives, and utilizes project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling software.
- Manages project scope and deliverables through a structured process to ensure customer expectations are met, and adherence to committed scope, budget, and schedule.
- Follows a structured change management process for material changes to the project.
- Responsible for ensuring that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities throughout the life of the project.
- Leads and motivates people and fosters collaborative teamwork environment.
- Ensures all stakeholders are informed of projects progress and issues.
- Creates and executes technical project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing scope and requirements.
- Works with IT and PMO leadership to continuously improve project management methodologies, reporting, and processes.
- Leverages technology to provide updates and track project progress.
- Drives meetings with project personnel to identify and resolve problems.
- Works closely with various internal and external resources to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Suggests and implements areas for improvement in internal processes.
- Vendor evaluation and sourcing through RFPs and RFIs. Evaluates proposals and works with project teams to make informed recommendations.
- Manages external vendors and maintains relationships with external team members.

- Excellent verbal and written communicator, formally and informally. Diplomatic with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management, and a clear vision of what determines a successful solution for the company.
- Ability to design, direct/manage data analytic efforts; comfortable at the summary and detail levels. Ability to organize and communicate complex functions/activities and effectively and efficiently identify and remediate project risks and/or issues.
- Comfortable navigating a wide range of enterprise technology solutions (new and/or proven).
- Ability to balance tactical and strategic objectives as required by individual projects.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and rapidly evolving work environment.
- Ability to multi-task across multiple competing priorities, proactively communication potential issues.

- Strong logical and analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional organizational abilities, including the ability to structure team activities toward a defined objective.
- Foundational understanding of business and financial principles.
Qualifications
- 5+ years proven Project Management experience with ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously; facilitating and/or directing teams.
- 1 - 3 years of directly related industry experience preferred; startup environments a plus
- PMP Certification a plus.
- Professional and effective written and oral communication skills in the English language.
- Demonstrated work ethic, integrity, and professional conduct.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
The Technology Project Manager will work out of the Schaumburg, IL or Chicago, IL office location, with some hybrid flexibility offered. This role will require occasional domestic travel as needed to carry out business objectives.
