Position Summary/Objective
The Senior Manager Retail Marketing is responsible for leading regional marketing coordinators to implement Ethos Cannabis' marketing initiatives, including external and internal marketing strategies, communications, and maintaining creative alignment to Ethos brand development and aesthetics. The Marketing Manager will oversee all regional marketing and promotion, community events, and other promotional functions in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Maryland. This position will directly support the marketing initiatives of our dispensary and grow/processor locations. We are building a strong ethical and team-oriented culture at Ethos Cannabis and are looking for this position to help lead and implement this vision.
We are seeking a passionate, driven, detail-oriented and collaborative Marketing Manager to provide strategic leadership, direction, and support to the company's marketing initiatives to maximize Ethos Cannabis' sales, margin, and profit, while maintaining a strong customer service focus. The ideal candidate has the ability to adapt to our business model and has demonstrated leadership experience, as he or she will be given significant responsibility over the marketing operations of our business to deliver a best in class and innovative cannabis retail experience. Previous cannabis experience is a plus but not required; however, all candidates should have some familiarity and comfort with cannabis. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Consult with the Vice President of Marketing to assess retail marketing needs of the organization
- Support and lead the local marketing coordinators and oversee regionalized social media and targeted email and text campaigns
- Develop quarterly retail marketing strategy and support implementation of plan with peers and direct reports
- Collaborates with manager, peers and/or core retail team to continuously optimize retail marketing strategy
- Collaboration with Trade Marketing and Merchandising, Brand Team, Brand Creative teams will be key to ensure through-the-line success for all retail marketing initiatives
- Collaborate with dispensary staff, management, and Ethos state/market leadership to develop and implement marketing strategies to best serve employees and customers and ensure marketing strategies are effective
- Develop and continually assess Ethos Cannabis' regional retail marketing plans and implement and adjust as needed
- Develop multi-channel marketing approach to effectively target Ethos' key constituents/segments and differentiate Ethos dispensaries from other dispensaries
- Support editorial direction, design, production, and distribution of marketing materials including publications and digital assets to support regional retail efforts includes maintaining marketing assets
- Lead retail marketing campaigns, including direct marketing efforts at targeted channels such as email and mail, print, professional conferences
- Support development of marketing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), employee training materials, and brand user guides that are consistent with state regulations
- Represent Ethos Cannabis at cannabis-related conferences and member-based organizations and remain current on latest developments in the cannabis community
- Support coordination of retail activities with the Marketing Coordinators
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to Ethos Cannabis marketing, as may be assigned
- Collaborate with other functional leaders in developing and implementing a best-in-class customer experience
- Support execution of customer satisfaction surveys and marketing research to improve customer user experience
- Develop market opportunity analysis, competitive intelligence, and strategic positioning to drive customer satisfaction and Ethos Cannabis growth targets
- Manage all aspects of marketing with a customer-first mentality and an intense focus on company culture and ethics, customer service excellence, sales growth, and brand standards
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a master's degree in marketing, business, journalism, public relations, or other relevant discipline is required
Work Experience:
- 5-10 years work experience with 5+ years of marketing, communications, or retail experience
- Strong understanding of marketing and demonstrated execution of marketing, communications, and social media activities
- Marketing management experience, which must include managing both marketing initiatives and people, ideally in a retail environment
- Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret key performance metrics, as well as manage a marketing budget and ROI on marketing spend
- Strong problem-solving skills including anticipatory thinking and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm composure
- Demonstrated ability to work comfortably and effectively within a diverse, multicultural, multigenerational environment
Other Requirements:
- Extended time sitting, walking, bending, and reaching is possible.
- Must pass stringent background test requirements of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Maryland.
- Periodic travel to various retail and grow/processor sites in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Maryland.
Compensation:
This position is classified as Exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay.
