Our client, a publicly traded multistate cannabis operator, is seeking a Senior Associate, Mergers and Acquisitions to join their expanding team located in New York City.
The ideal candidate will be charged with supporting the business through MA due diligence, transaction execution, and following all risk related policies and practices. The Senior Associate, Mergers and Acquisitions is responsible for overseeing mergers and acquisitions from the initial contact all the way to the finalization of the transaction as well as the integration and transition of new acquisitions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Senior Associate will be expected to provide analytical and research support related to financial modeling and business valuation
- The preparation of management and board presentations and other transaction-related duties as required.
- The Senior Associate will be responsible for performing industry research, maintaining proprietary market transaction databases and analyzing public market comparable.
- In addition, the Senior Associate will perform research related to specific client opportunities and the MA teams marketing efforts.
- Support the strategic and financial evaluation through market research, financial modeling and valuation analysis and assist in preparing responses to requests for proposals
- Bring creative ideas and different viewpoints to client engagements
- Deliver high quality work with integrity
- Lead the MA division in researching and prospecting new merger and acquisition targets within a specified profile that is in line with the strategy of the business.
- Conduct extensive research, gather information about target businesses, and liaises with the Executive team to develop a prospecting list.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive MA management narrowing down on the businesss approach to companies on the prospecting list with acquisition offers.
- Liaise with the legal and finance departments in ensuring that there is a seamless execution of merger and acquisition transactions.
- Maintain up to date with industry trends and best practices, as well as keep informed on current and developing legislation governing the cannabis industry.
EDUCATION AND REQUIRE SKILLS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business
- 5 years of experience Investment Banking, Private Equity, MA, Business Valuation, Consulting or Auditing experience.
- Excellent quantitative and financial modeling skills
- Solid technical and analytical computer skills including excellent Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word software skills
COMPENSATION: $130,000-$150,000
