WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Responsible for accounting entries and account reconciliations for equity, including stock compensation, leases, debt, and intercompany transactions
- Work closely with treasury to provide accounting expertise for equity, debt, and non-recurring transactions
- Collaborate closely with the fixed asset team to gain a complete understanding of the general ledger impact of all fixed asset related transactions
- Research and investigate financial variances for monthly fluctuation analysis
- Assist or prepare schedules to support regulatory, statutory, or management reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Prepare corporate accounting schedules required as support for quarterly and annual filings
- Assist with quarterly and annual audit preparation for external auditors
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and policies for effectiveness and efficiencies
- Assist with special projects such as ERP implementations, lease accounting software, and acquisition integrations
- Ensure compliance with accounting and reporting deadlines
- Perform other special projects as assigned
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting (Active CPA or CPA eligible preferred)
- Knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS knowledge a plus)
- 3+ years of demonstrated general ledger accounting experience
- Experience working with various systems (Sage Intacct & Blackline a plus)
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel
- Initiative-taker who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet pressing deadlines
- Collaborator with a strong work ethic
- Excellent conceptual, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Accountant, Reporting & Corporate Accounting to join our Corporate finance team in NYC (hybrid). The Senior Accountant, Reporting & Corporate Accounting will assist in all areas relating to external and internal financial reporting as well as technical accounting guidance. The ideal candidate will have a blend of public accounting and industry experience and be able to thrive and get things done in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Where You’ll be Planted
This role will be 50/50 Hybrid in-office/remote role. For the in office portion, candidates will need to be within commutable distance to offices in either King of Prussia, PA or New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of the financial statement footnotes and MD&A for annual reports and the preparation of Form 10-Ks and Form 10-Qs
- Compiling information from business units to create supporting schedules, content and notes for the external financial statement filings
- Assist with the preparation of other filings including debt covenants and government accounting reports
- Researching technical accounting issues under US GAAP, including the preparation of accounting memos and policies
- Maintain accounting records and perform monthly close process for the US Corporate entity
- Prepare/review monthly reconciliations on bank and other relevant accounts
- Prepare monthly US corporate financial statements and analysis and review with Corporate Controller
- Facilitating year-end external audits and interim reviews as needed
- Continuously monitor, recommend, and implement process improvement initiatives to increase effectiveness and productivity
- Maintain financial controls and policies to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
- Other ad-hoc filings and projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- A minimum of 5+ years of public experience or public/private in a major public accounting firm and/or a multinational company in similar capacity (SEC/External reporting and financial policy)
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- Strong technical accounting skills and up-to-date knowledge of the latest accounting standards
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills necessary
- Demonstrated experience in external financial reporting and analysis with a strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and practices.
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, in an ambiguous and developing structure

- Assist Director of Technical Accounting with Research and documentation of GAAP accounting treatment and review current and new accounting pronouncements and developments
- Prepare memorandums on complex accounting and reporting topics (Leases, Consolidation, Acquisitions, Variable Interest, Derivatives, and may more)
- Development of new and revised accounting policies in accordance with GAAP
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to financial reporting and disclosure matters
- Assist in preparation of a monthly and quarterly reporting package for public Company (K/Qs)
- Assist the Senior Director of Financial Reporting and internal staff in preparing and reviewing the quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Qs and 10-Ks, 8-Ks.
- Draft and review of the Management's Discussion and Analysis section of the 10-K/Q and support the drafting of the earnings release and related earnings call transcript
- Interface with the accounting department to extract data and reports from Sage reporting system and general ledger system to prepare monthly financial reports and monthly/quarterly financial statements for inclusion in various internal filings and SEC filing reporting requirements
- Assist in preparing quarterly and year-end audit schedules and analyses for the external auditors.
- Research and analyze disclosure requirements of new and amended technical accounting and reporting pronouncements and new transactions entered into by the Company. Prepare position memos as needed
- Assist in the Jushi's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts in connection with the financial reporting process
- Support Director of Technical Accounting and Senior Director of Financial Reporting with ad hoc analysis or special projects as assigned
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and technical accounting experience preferred)
- CPA required
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP
- Assist in preparation of a monthly and quarterly reporting package for public Company (K/Qs)
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex challenges
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to understand, summarize and communicate complex accounting topics
