About the Role
This individual will be responsible for procurement and product management for the assigned product class. The Product Manager is the subject matter expert for their product class including, managing the product lifecycle, supporting sales goals with a best in class product portfolio, evaluating customer needs, and looking for innovative options to enhance the company portfolio. This individual will be responsible for pro-actively following up on purchase orders, production, delivery at assigned suppliers and ensuring goods are delivered on time delivery and meet Kushco quality standards.
This position can be remote.
What you will do (Essential Functions)
- Expert in assigned product class and corresponding vendor capabilities: Manage product category by knowing the competition, our forward-looking customer needs, and identify opportunities to replace, enhance, or discontinue active skus
- Continuously review the product offering and course-correct to support customer needs as demand changes
- Evaluate the market for comparable offerings to maintain best in class product portfolio
- Develop and execute a go to market strategy for their respective category
- Utilizing input from sales, manage item level forecasts to ensure in stock and suggest modifications to the core item list
- Suggest new product category or vendor opportunities
- Maintain sample inventory and accessibility for sales toolkits
- Coordinate regional training with sales team on new product launches and quarterly continuing-education trainings
- Communicate any supply-related concerns to ensure there is no disruption in the supply chain
- Pro-actively recommend cost savings and retail pricing opportunities on skus in the assigned product class
- Resolve any discrepancies in quantities, delivery, cost, and quality.
- Maintain supplier price sheets & terms, as required
- Special projects as assigned
Who you are (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization – English
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in product/procurement in the manufacturing sector with multi-regional vendors/suppliers is strongly preferred
- Strong negotiation skills with general understanding of the procurement, vendor management, and inventory management
- Confidence, presence, and credibility to command the respect of colleagues and senior stakeholders, especially within Strategic Procurement, Engineering, Services, Logistics, and Finance. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Adaptable / Flexible - being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances
- Understanding Team value and has ability to collaborate across departments
- Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and MS-Project skills

- This position requires frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and operating a computer workstation

- Reach, stoop and lift office files, records or reports, typically weighing 20 pounds or less
