Position Summary:
Within the academic area of the college, performs the duties of a part-time faculty member. Including developing course compendia and reading lists and participating in departmental responsibilities in the selection of textbooks and related teaching resources; maintaining at least one (1) regularly scheduled office hour per week per three (3) contact/credit hours or any part thereof for the purpose of student-faculty contact as it relates to classroom/laboratory instruction; meeting with students for the purpose of academic advisement and maintaining accurate student records. Incumbents can teach a total of up to 8 credits per semester within the CC system.
Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree or equivalent in subject matter required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching related college-level courses
- Experience teaching at a community college.
- Experience teaching on-ground, online or hybrid courses at the postsecondary level.
- Experience with curriculum development, and program assessment and evaluation.
- Experience with online instruction and delivery methods such as Blackboard.

The Department of Plant Biology at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences invites applicants for a Part Time Lecturer position at New Brunswick/Cook Campus for Summer 2022. The position will be responsible for instructional design and for teaching about one-third of Hemp Cultivation and Cannabinoid Analysis course. Responsibilities include design the course structure, creating and administering the class Canvas site, leading / facilitating class discussions of lecture topics, designing and evaluating group projects, delivering content lectures on informatics and business aspects of hemp cultivation. Demonstrated background knowledge and experience in hybrid instructional design; Canvas LMS, teaching experience using hybrid and in person active learning methods, group project pedagogical approaches, herbal/hemp business and research experience a plus.
The successful incumbent will report to the Undergraduate Program Director in Plant Science and the Department Chair, and will be required to administer and instruct the course, including a greenhouse component that corresponds with lecture material in
Hemp Cultivation. The course will be offered in-person.
