A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, tobacco, cannabis, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
Our Richmond, VA facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Analyst I (Toxicology) who will be responsible for helping keep the lab environment clean and organized, prepare solutions, maintain equipment, and conduct studies to determine the toxicity of nicotine-containing products. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a laboratory, will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions, and will be passionate about doing work that moves things forward.
- Analyze data collected in real time data and assess experimental progress
- Follow study protocols and methods based on published scientific articles and technical reports.
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments
- Conduct laboratory day-to-day duties, such as preparation of laboratory materials and solutions as well as housekeeping and ordering responsibilities
- Assist in data compilation and review
- Work in a GLP compliant environment
- Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
- Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
- Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Experience with micronucleus staining and counting preferred
- Experience with automated micronucleus counting desirable but not required
- Experience with flow cytometry desirable but not required
- Experience with Litron microflow desirable but not required
- BS or MS degree in biology or related field.
Preferred Skills:
- Detail oriented, reliable, highly motivated, and will interact well in a team environment.
- Good organizational skills, a high energy level, a sense of commitment to assure that obligations and quality are met
- Capable of handling multiple assignments concurrently
- Working knowledge of basic computer skills, especially MS Office.
