Job purpose
This position is supervised by the Cultivation Center Director who is responsible for efficient operation of the Cultivation Center. The Kitchen Manager will work independently to make medical cannabis infused products; both edible & topical. Manager will be expected to do extensive research in order to develop quality medicinal cannabis products. Manager will be required to accurately maintain inventory.
Duties and responsibilities
- Master recipes of existing products
- Develop new recipes as requested
- Order necessary ingredients and products
- Track and maintain inventory of products made with a controlled substance
- Handle multiple tasks/duties at a time
- Supervise kitchen associates
- Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen at all times
- Follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ensure that all appropriate staff sanitation licenses/certificates are current
- Be aware of upcoming expirations of staff sanitation license/certificates and remind staff to renew
- Will be expected to complete any and all duties deemed necessary or assigned by Director
Qualifications
Must hold an Illinois Food and Sanitation License
- Inventory management experience required
- Baking, Pastry, Candy making experience required (will be trained on existing methods)
- Staff and production management experience
- Must be able to work cooperatively and professionally with all agency staff on a consistent basis.
- Possess an understanding of human development and motivation.
- Must be able to provide or arrange own transportation to and from work. If using own vehicle, must be able to provide proof of adequate personal vehicle insurance.
- Ability to represent this agency in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability and willingness to address unscheduled emergency job responsibilities during non-work/personal time in a positive manner.
- Must be able to accept and adapt to unscheduled changes in routine, rules, regulations, procedures, etc., in a positive and consistently competent manner.
- Willingness and ability to maintain accurate, timely records and daily paperwork.
- Agrees to attend training and in-service workshops
- Shall have an understanding and familiarity with Shelby County and its available community resources
- Must be able to record, write, and speak the English language in a correct, consistent, and understandable manner.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Requirements
- At least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work quickly without compromising accuracy.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time
- Strong communication skills to work with various members of staff and management.
- Able to work in different seasonal climates and temperature changes.
- Flexible to schedule changes.
- Excellent attention to detail and able to meet all deadlines.
- Ability to pass extensive background check
