This position is for laboratory intake of cannabis and cannabis products being tested for compliance under NJ state regulations. Under the supervision of the Sample Manager, the laboratory intake technician will perform various routine tasks associated with receipt of cannabis samples into the laboratory. These tasks include photographing the sample, labeling and organizing sample containers, subsampling with an analytical balance, and sample homogenization. The intake technician will also perform moisture content analysis and water activity analysis. Depending on experience, the intake technician may also be trained to perform aseptic subsampling for microbial analysis, foreign material analysis with a stereomicroscope, and other sample preparation tasks. The position supports the chemistry department in preparation of samples for pesticides, mycotoxin, heavy metals, terpenes, and cannabinoid analyses. This position requires multi-tasking, fine motor skills and the ability to maintain attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks. The intake technician will follow all standard operating procedures to handle samples and report directly to the Sample Manager.

The LC-MS Analyst prepares and analyzes cannabis, hemp, CBD, and other samples using both standard and complex testing according to scientific and standard methodology in compliance with Green Scientific Laboratory’s Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s, validates and reviews data for accuracy through Level I reviews. LC-MS Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Batch and prep samples for analysis taking into account special and varied client and QA requirements
- Formulate reagents for sample analysis
- Prepare appropriate standards to ensure compliant data
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation
- Assist in training new analysts on laboratory procedure
- Perform Level I and II review of data produced to ensure accuracy
- Aid management in special sample preparation requests
- Log nonconformances and/or deviations for projects related to QA issues
- Monitor refrigerator temperatures
- Maintain logbooks
- Responsible for performing job functions within Green Scientific’s EHS and QA standards
- Maintain housekeeping standards for work area
- Inventory and stock laboratory supplies
- Request supply orders
- Wash and inventory glassware

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

- Must pass an extensive level 2 background check

Microbiologist
Job Description
The Microbiologist prepares and analyzes cannabis, hemp, CBD, and other samples using both standard and complex testing according to scientific and standard methodology in compliance with Green Scientific Laboratory’s Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s. Validates and reviews data for accuracy through Level I and II reviews. Participates in method development, validation, and training. Must be knowledgeable of a broad range of laboratory testing equipment requiring the exercise of discretion and judgment in its operation.
Microbiologist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Applies GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
- Performs routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:
- Preparation of qPCR and enumeration samples using standard techniques
- Subculturing, plate reading, and confirmations as required
- Making reagents for sample analysis
- Performs Level I and II review of data produced to ensure accuracy
- Recording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
- Run and monitor instrumentation (qPCR, liquid handlers, plate readers, etc.)
- Tests laboratory environment for contamination on a routine basis according to SOPs
- Participates in off-site/field environmental monitoring activities as-needed
- Performs independent method development and validation
- Spearheads external laboratory audits and client tours pertaining to the department
- Researches and proposes new methodologies or test procedures
- Completes all environmental monitoring recordings for all temperature sensitive equipment, including incubators, refrigerators, and freezers
- Uploads laboratory data into LIMS system, including QC charts and data packages
- Signs off and approves training for new microbiologists in laboratory procedure
- Light travel and remote assistance for other laboratory locations
- Executes proper cleaning protocols to maintain the cleanliness of workspaces
- Responsible for performing job functions in compliance with Green Scientific’s EHS and QA standards
- Manages inventory and stocks laboratory supplies
