Job Description
The Microbiology Lab Technician prepares and analyzes cannabis, hemp, CBD, and other samples using scientific and standard methodology in compliance with Green Scientific Labs policies and procedures.
Microbiology Lab Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Preparing client samples by homogenizing, aliquoting, weighing, extractions, dilutions, QC spiking, labeling, transporting, and logging sample information and results into LIMS.
- Carrying out sample preparation techniques including, but not limited to, solid-liquid and liquid-liquid extraction, centrifugation, and filtration
- Performs routine microbiological lab tasks, including but not limited to:
- Homogenizing, weighing, incubating and preparing samples for microbiological analysis using qPCR or traditional methods.
- Preparing reagents for sample analysis
- Recording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
- Operate and monitor instrumentation (qPCR, liquid handlers, etc.)
- Perform assays such as foreign material inspection, water activity and moisture content assays.
- Complete all environmental monitoring recordings equipment and facility
- Checking batch records daily and reviewing any flags for samples/data that fall outside of accepted criteria
- Performing daily tasks including calibration verification of lab equipment, completing logs, etc.
- Responsible for general housekeeping (cleaning and organizing) in their work area, and basic equipment maintenance
- Responsible for performing job functions in compliance with Green Scientific Labs’ standards and procedures following GLPs in all areas of responsibility
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

Job Description
The Laboratory Technician role prepares cannabis, hemp, CBD, and other samples using analytical techniques according to scientific and standard methodology in compliance with Green Scientific Laboratory’s Quality Assurance programs and SOPs.
Laboratory Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Supporting all aspects of laboratory test work including receiving of samples, cryogrinding, homogenization, extractions, dilutions, etc.
· Preparing client samples including weighing, extractions, dilutions, QC spiking, labeling, transporting, and logging

· Storing all samples while adhering to local and federal laws/regulations

The Laboratory Technician I role prepares cannabis, hemp, CBD, and other samples using analytical techniques according to scientific and standard methodology in compliance with Green Scientific Laboratory’s Quality Assurance programs and SOPs.
Laboratory Technician I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Supporting all aspects of laboratory test work including receiving of samples, cryogrinding, homogenization, extractions etc.
- Preparing client samples including weighing, labeling, transporting, and logging Performing daily tasks including calibration of lab equipment, filling in temperature logs, etc. Cleaning and maintenance of extraction equipment and laboratory facility
- Maintaining detailed inventory records of all sample materials, chemicals, and equipment used in the laboratory
- Maintaining inventory records of supplies, equipment, and preparing requisitions as needed
- Storing all samples while adhering to local and federal laws/regulations
- Operation and calibration of laboratory equipment, including balances, centrifuges, microscopes, etc.
- Proper disposal of chemical and biohazardous waste
- Washing and sterilizing laboratory glassware according to established protocols/SOPs
- Performing clerical work related to laboratory activities such as word processing and record keeping
- Maintaining material safety data sheets for all department chemicals and products
- Adherence to all laboratory safety, quality assurance and quality control documentation as specified in company Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintaining compliance with local and state guidelines requiring chain of custody of controlled substances
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma required. Must be supplemented with 1 year of laboratory experience or a science related degree with little to no experience.
- Work Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in a laboratory environment preferred
- Technical Skills: General laboratory knowledge, pipetting, attention to detail, accuracy
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication and customer support skills.
- Must be 21 years or older, pass an extensive level 2 background check, and be approved by the AZDHS as a laboratory agent

Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain VSR+ Inventory Management System
- Work with inventory supervisor and laboratory management to examine consumables usage and determine minimum and maximum reorder points
- Ensure laboratory work areas are properly replenished to maintain uninterrupted workflow
- Conduct monthly hard counts, performing corrections and additional counts as needed
- Maintain incoming delivery schedule and notify laboratory management of any changes or delays
- Organize and upload consumable COAs and ensure they reach proper departments
- Create detailed reports for adjustments, inventory operations, and stock levels
- Maintain overall organization and cleanliness of facility
- Maintain cannabis inventory daily and work with quality team to conduct audits
- Organize and enter packing slips into the Sharepoint for documentation purposes
- Receive and organize deliveries making sure all ordered items are properly delivered
- Coordinating returns with the inventory supervisor as needed
- Work with laboratory management to schedule facility upkeep such as HVAC, electricity, cleaning, etc.
- Responsible for waste management: scheduling pick-ups, destroying cannabis waste
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

- Check and review laboratory quality data and inputs data into tracking systems and appropriate logbooks.
- Completes and executes daily/weekly/monthly (or as specified) instrument maintenance schedules.
- Basic troubleshooting of instrumentation. (LCMS-MS)
- Maintains inventory of consumables, reagents, and standards.
- Prepares calibration curves, quality control standards, and tracks all data.
- Run samples, process data, and ensure data is correct and compliant.
- Implementation of appropriate quality control processes and procedures in order to guarantee accuracy of analysis and quality of results.
- Notify laboratory management of suspect data or data interpretation needs.
- Documents all work performed in the lab.
- Checks batch records and reviews any flags for quality control samples which fall outside of acceptable criteria.
- Upon completion of daily batches, communicate with QA/QC submitting quality control data for review.
- Maintaining and revising instrumentation SOPs when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
· Education: BA or higher in related scientific field.
· Two-years experience with LCMS-MS
· Minimum 4 years experience in a laboratory environment
· Cannabis experience is a plus
· Detailed oriented
· Must have excellent written and verbal communication and customer support skills.
· Must pass an extensive level 2 background check
