Job Description
The School of Dentistry is looking for a reliable and self-motivated
Clinical Technician II to work both independently and in a team environment as part of our
Dental Clinic Dispensary Team. This team is reposniblie for dispensing and receiving supplies and equipment for dental students and faculty in the Dental Clinic. The team also assist students with identifying and selecting the correct material for the procedure to be performed in the various Dental Clinics within the School of Dentistry – we see over 200+ patients per day!
This position is a works /learning environment, supporting Faculty, Staff, and Students and is a place for all to excel and grow professionally. You will be part of a team effort that provides student education and dental care for the community. You will work with pleasant and outgoing people from different departments throughout the building. One of the brightest sides of working at the dental school is meeting all of our new students for the first time and greeting them with a smile.
Our vision is to help dental and dental hygiene students achieve their goals to be the best-qualified clinicians upon graduation.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential in all aspects of the position. It is critical that the person in this job understands the importance of infection control procedures and following procedures and policies, recognizes names and uses of dental equipment, and complies with OSHA, Hazmat, and UMKC guidelines.
Duties include but are not limited to:

Dispense and receive supplies and equipment for dental students and faculty

Assist students with identifying and selecting the correct material for the procedure to be performed

Ensure that dental equipment and supplies that are returned are properly sterilized/disinfected/disposed of following patient treatment
-
Restocking of disposable materials in dispensary work area, clinic floor lab, and student carts.
-
Maintain cleanliness of dispensary work area and surfaces
-
Periodic laundry of blankets, faculty clinic coats, and staff department jackets
-
Periodic cleaning and basic maintenance checks on a variety of equipment
-
Assist with student trial and WERB/ADEC boards as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience is necessary from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.
- Certifications as required by regulatory agencies is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of dental materials and equipment
- Previous experience with detail-oriented tasks
- Previous expiernece in a customer service environment
Full Time/Part Time
40 hours per week (1.0 FTE), fully benefit-eligible, staff position.
Salary
- Up to $17.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
- Position is eligible for a $1,000 hiring incentive (for more information, see HR-104 Hiring Incentives for Faculty and Staff)

Manages the day-to-day Delivery Operations. Provides support for all delivery agents, including monitoring daily volume and employee attendance, scheduling deliveries, training, policy and procedure updates, industry news, and product information. Responsible for leading all aspects of delivery operations, including security for personnel loading and unloading, cash handling, product tracking/reporting in the facility's Inventory Control System/Point of Sale, customer records maintenance in the facility's internal Verification Process, security during transport of product, loss prevention, sales reporting, product/supplies purchases, internal controls oversight, asset management, and facility compliance, maintenance, and cleanliness. Ensures staff coaching and develops the delivery team and delivers the Company's promise. The Delivery Lead is the critical link between the retail operations and a successful at-home customer delivery.
- Proactively engage with customers to exceed their needs and work to generate revenue by driving a customer-centric sales culture
- Maintain compliance with all State & company policies/procedures, including but not limited to inventory reporting, employee reporting, customer reporting, delivery reporting, & product packaging
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all employees and customers to include sales floor, vehicles, break room, manager offices and restrooms
- Ensure the implementation and effective application of information, tools, and systems required to meet customer needs
- Adaptable to a changing environment and able to consistently achieve goals despite stress and ambiguity
- Participate in networking and creating positive relationships within the community
- Conduct and oversee the training of all new employees as well as the retraining of existing employees as needed

- Associate degree preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of exceptional leadership, management, communication and training skills in a customer centric sales environment.
- Previous management experience preferred
- Must possess ability to process information/merchandise through POS register system

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Good planning, organizational and time management skills
