Our El Dorado Hills, CA facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Sample Prep Chemist to join our team.
As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Preparation, extraction, and clean-up of various environmental sample matrices
- Perform sample preparation where needed (i.e. homogenization, etc.)
- Use of centrifuge, analytical balance, and various evaporative systems with organic solvents
- Dispose of laboratory waste in a safe manner following prescribed procedures
- Maintaining clean laboratory areas
- Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
- Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
- Dispose of laboratory waste in a safe manner following prescribed procedures
- Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
- Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
- Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Quantitative sample analysis
- Understand the purpose of the testing and determine if analyses do not meet minimum quality control and project criteria
- Maintaining organized records of analysis and equipment maintenance
- Instrument calibration and troubleshooting of equipment
- Work with Group Leader to improve quality and efficiency of analyses
- React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

The Technical Director is the laboratory’s lead analytical and technical resource, responsible for improving procedures and implementing new technologies to meet quality standards and client requirements, reducing costs, and maximizing operating efficiencies by effectively managing and developing available technology solutions. They will also improve efficiencies by minimizing down-time and maximizing instrument through-put and assisting the Group Leaders in training staff to operate new and existing analytical equipment.

Job Responsibilities - This role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Method Development – understands methodology and instrumentation, including a software and hardware perspective, to make changes and improvements as needed. Demonstrate knowledge of different analytical columns, detectors, sample preparation, clean up techniques, etc.
- Troubleshooting – Strong ability to diagnose source of error at the bench; understanding how to optimize method parameters such as flow rates, gradients, solvent efficiency, chromatographic resolution, etc.
- Method Validation – write validation plans, interpret and evaluate data, write validation reports in a timely manner to meet deadlines collaborating with QA and Lab Management.
- Staff Development – provide technical and analytical training to analysts and technicians;
- Quality Assurance - Supervise and manage adherence to QA/QC, collaborate with lab management to develop and implement quality systems
- Hands on expertise and thorough knowledge (beyond general preventative maintenance) of all instruments used in the laboratory.
- When necessary, prepare and analyze client samples, review data, to meet production deadlines.
- Assign and clearly communicate technical priorities; coordinate employee schedules with lab management to balance production needs and development needs
- Allocate lab resources to meet client schedule & requirements; Provide expertise to lab management when recommending new equipment to purchase
- Act as manager when lab manager or lab director are out
- Projecting staffing needs: hiring and firing staff; Assist with employee performance reviews
- Act as main point of contact, along with QA, during lab audits
- Other duties, as assigned by Laboratory Director
Minimum Qualifications

- BA/BS in Chemistry or related Science required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a laboratory testing environment
- In -depth understanding of at least two of the following: LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS, LC-DAD, GC-FID
- The Technical Director must meet the requirements of the accrediting body(ies) of the laboratory
- Strong scientific writing and presentation skills
- Analytical thinking to solve technical problems
- Contract Research Organization (CRO) experience or background a plus
- Scientific expertise or background in cannabis containing products is a plus
- Master’s or PhD degree is a plus.

- Manage laboratory systems responsible for sample tracking and data reporting,

Our El Dorado Hills, CA facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Sample Prep Chemist to join our team.
As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Preparation, extraction, and clean-up of various environmental sample matrices
- Perform sample preparation where needed (i.e. homogenization, etc.)
- Use of centrifuge, analytical balance, and various evaporative systems with organic solvents
- Dispose of laboratory waste in a safe manner following prescribed procedures
- Maintaining clean laboratory areas
- Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
- Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation

As a key member of the Quality team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Managing the Quality Management System (QMS), standards compliance, and laboratory accreditations.
- Designing and implementing improvements in human, technical, safety and quality systems to improve data quality, operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Understanding and evaluating the analytical chemistry methods used by the laboratory; ensuring compliance of the laboratory’s procedures with promulgated methods and accepted validation requirements
- The QA Manager functions independently from Laboratory Operations, having responsibility for quality assurance, independent of production deadlines and financial responsibility.
- Leading the laboratory’s QA/QC and data quality improvement activities
- Managing, maintaining, and expanding the lab’s accreditations and licenses
- Implementing and revising the QA program as needed to address deficiencies as well as opportunities for improvement
- Ensuring the laboratory’s QA Manual and SOP’s are written, organized and compliant to standards
- Completing, evaluating, and reporting PT results; completing associated corrective actions as needed
- Ensuring documentation of personnel training, (IDOC’s) is compliant and readily available
- Providing QA/QC training for staff; identifying additional training needs and developing training materials
- Proactively ensuring compliance to ethics program
- Documenting & evaluating the validation of new analytical chemistry testing methods
- Conducting internal audits and data assessments; hosting and participating in external audits
- Detecting, resolving, monitoring, and closing non-conformances and corrective actions

The Laboratory Director will have supervisory control of all operations and production aspects of the laboratory. The Laboratory Director is primarily responsible for the application and development of the labs’ resources to meet current and future client requirements.
The Lab Director is responsible for the business unit management, control of operating costs, laboratory operations, Information Technology and Financial performance of the lab.
Responsibilities
- The Laboratory Director's responsibilities encompass the general business management of the laboratory, and all its resources, including equipment, facilities and personnel
- Ensure that the highest standards of quality and customer service are maintained. Collaborate with Quality Assurance staff on development and implementation of effective programs. Monitor proficiency testing program as required; oversee the validity of the analyses performed and data generated to ensure reliable data. Take corrective action promptly when results are unsatisfactory.
- Provide insightful solutions to problems as they arise
- Keep abreast of new technical developments. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase quality of services and operational efficiency.

As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring the timely delivery of analytical data reports to clients and the QA department.
- The Operations Manager works closely with the Laboratory Director and Technical Director to troubleshoot and solve both technical and procedural issues to ensure efficient processing of client samples through the laboratory.
- Coordinate work scheduling and laboratory resource allocation
- Supervise and manage adherence to project, SOP/method, and turnaround requirements
- Assess production capacity and provide solutions for scheduling, technical, and quality issues
- Provide mentorship to staff and ensure they are developing necessary skills and abilities for the work today and in the future
- Assist in personnel supervision, time management, and operational efficiency, as well as conflict resolution, personnel skills development and team building

We are looking for someone that thrives wearing many different hats and who enjoys their duties changing daily. A self-motivated team player that works hard but likes to have fun. Here is a list of some but not all of the duties you MUST be able to perform in order to be considered for the job.
- Working on the production line, filling, labeling and sealing bottles.
- Product inventory using inventory software
- Shipping/Receiving
- Calling/Emailing Customers
- Invoicing/Depositing Checks
- Light Bookkeeping/Recording such as quickbooks and other software.
- Ordering Office Supplies & keeping us stocked.
- Computer Skills Required: Type 50 words a minute, Creating & Managing Excel Spreadsheets, Managing Google Docs, Great Understanding of Gmail & Google Drive.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
- Experience in mixing, measuring, weighing and other lab duties a bonus but not required.
