OVERVIEW: The Grower Relationship Manager is responsible for the purchasing of produce, materials and select supplies in the organization, taking into consideration cost, quality, timing and production restraints for the benefit of the company and maintaining strong relationships with the growers.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee pricing functions managing gross margins and volumes. Establish a cost matrix for each supply partner including all aspects of cost of goods.
- Ensure that we fulfill up to 95% of each customers original PO requested units by commodity type. Also ensure that quality of product sourced meets or exceeds our specifications.
- Work directly with business development team (Account Managers) establishing regular communication of Maglio cost, sales, pricing and margin options on an ongoing basis. Also obtain feedback from customers on needs and performance.
- Establish and monitor monthly reports tracking performance across all categories and vendors. Develop vendor rating system to reward loyal and good quality suppliers with more business.
- Report to management the measurable status of progress and corrective actions as it pertains to supplier performance.
- Develop at least 3 alternative sources by commodity when possible to ensure coverage of product needs.
- Ensure that we develop daily and weekly margin management capabilities by customer and commodity and make needed adjustments to pricing on an as needed basis with a sense of urgency.
- Execute daily, weekly, and seasonal produce procurement strategies with sales team involvement.
- Analyze market – recommend major purchases of produce and related materials based on anticipated changes in prices or on unusual availability or unexpected market situations
- Keep track of changes in the market and communicate effectively. Historical data used to analysis trends.
- Develop process to track shrink and credits to ensure that we reduce them to reasonable market or below market levels.
- Ensure that ALL physical inventory of ALL commodities sourced by each location are accounted for daily, weekly and monthly and ANY exceptions are investigated and defined timely.
- Visit growing areas or suppliers on an as needed basis to establish relationships and develop joint go to market strategies.
- Leads development and implementation of strategies to improve supply chain efficiencies and reduce total cost.
- Execute purchase orders or vendor contracts as needed to support business needs.
- Secure grower support and pricing on all contracts and RFPs on a timely basis.
- Ensure that purchasing documents are completed properly and submitted for payment on a timely basis.
- Managing and mentoring a team of purchasing professionals. Establish department practices and procedures
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
COMPETENCIES:

Education:

- 5 years produce purchasing experience, or equivalent.
- CPM, CPSM, CSM, or equivalent preferred.

JW Nutritional, LLC is seeking a full-time Production Manager to achieve nutraceuticals manufacturing targets by successfully managing our Production department. Our business is growing and we are looking to fill this immediate need.

Whether companies need encapsulation, powder filling, liquid filling, bottling, labeling, or packaging, we are equipped to meet their needs.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, direction and coaching to all employees within the production department
Be accountable to specific targets, setting objectives and delivering results, monitor and completion of all paperwork and reports and check accuracy
Optimize and use initiative on a daily and ongoing basis to execute production schedules through the use of planning, organizing and the controlling of resources
Monitor staffing levels and adjust to meet production levels and control costs
Monitor department constantly for SOP, HACCP and cGMP variances and correct
Review new and current product specifications, revising the existing specifications and making recommendations
Make regular quality assurance checks and food safety assessments
Work hands-on as required teaching employees the use of various packaging machines and other production equipment and techniques as required
Work closely with all Production and Production Support teams to improve overall department performance
Ensure the plant adheres to all government regulations regarding safe food production, ensuring the highest standards of food safety are applied plant-wide
Continuously assesses the production lines and the product being produced and react in a timely manner to communicate potential problems
Develop, implement, and maintain best practices for area of responsibility including safety programs, documentation and standard procedures as well as develop and conduct training for the employees under his/her control
Manage the team and communicate constantly with all necessary parties regarding the plant production schedule, inventory, and other issues regarding production
Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Leadership.
Collaborate with Sales, R&D new products team to assist in the efficient launch of new products.
Reports To: VP, Operations
Experience and Skills:
Minimum high school diploma with 5 years’ experience as leader in a nutraceutical or food production operation
Ability to recognize and resolve deviations, compliance issues, seek out and apply best practices
Sound knowledge of HACCP, SOPs, GMP, Environmental Safety, and mass production with the ability to provide technical support to the production team.
Self-directed and professional.

Excellent time management and organizational skills; experience managing, motivating and directing a production team;
Ability to function in a fast paced production environment
