Purpose of Position
Collaborates with various individuals within the Law Enforcement Records Bureau (LERB) at DPS, the criminal justice system, courts and correction agencies, to obtain full information about an individual's arrest history.

Why does the job exist?
After in-depth analysis, and as authorized by the court, the analyst removes any relevant data about the individuals' historic arrests. The analyst is required to maintain detailed records of each expungement that has been authorized and completed.
How does it get done?
1. Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, the incumbent constructively collaborates with various individuals within the Law Enforcement Records Bureau (LERB) at the Department of Public Safety, the criminal justice system, courts and corrections agencies, to obtain full information about an individual's arrest history, and as authorized by the court, removes any relevant data about the individual's historic cannabis arrests. Maintain records of expungement.
2. Downloads, Administrative Office of the Court (AOC) files which contain various petition and order files authorizing an expungement, process and generate individual DPS case files, enter data into the DPS expungement spreadsheet, pull DPS case jackets, research and cross verify information in court order and DPS records.
3. Update necessary fields in the NM Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS), Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Interstate Identification (III), update DPS records jacket with relevant expungement orders.
4. Promotes, tracks and measures compliance with program changes by creating and implementing appropriate data collection, reporting, and/or recordkeeping processes.

Employment Requirements
Subject to a national fingerprint based record check within 30 days of assignment. Continued employment is contingent upon remaining felony free. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Statewide travel will be required.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated August 12, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
In addition, employees working in State correctional facilities who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to inmates are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Work is performed in a forensic laboratory setting; exposure to chemicals and biological fluids; statewide travel in car and/or small aircraft will be required when needed. Work under stressful situations with strict deadlines. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.; frequent walking; standing, sitting and bending; and exposure to noise from equipment and instruments utilized in the laboratory is required.
