A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, tobacco, cannabis, and toxicity testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
As a key member of the Durham team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Preparation of samples for analysis
- Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
- Sample extractions
- Determining the volume of samples
- Cleaning of laboratory glassware
- Maintaining clean laboratory areas
- Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
- Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses
- Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
- Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
- Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan

QUALIFICATIONS

- 2 years of relevant lab experience allows direct advancement to Tech II (academic lab counts)

A Laboratory Technician I is responsible for performing tasks required to meet the expectations of our clients, in addition to efficiently and profitably generating defensible data in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (e.g. pathogens or chemicals). He/She/They will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that makes things move forward
As a key member of the Richmond Laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Enthalpy’s SOPs
- Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
- Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
- Assists in sample bottle preparation
- Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal
- Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed
- Assists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule, if needed
- Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
- Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program
- Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
- Other duties as assigned
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
