Legacy Grown cannabis cultivation facility is currently seeking a full-time Post-Harvest Production Lead to join our crew!
The Post-Harvest Production Lead is responsible for maintaining quality control and packaging of cannabis product once harvest is completed, management of compliant test sampling procedures, accuracy of inventory, preparation of product for transport, and assists the cultivation team with METRC administrative support.
The right candidate will have some METRC experience.
- Experience with cannabis test batch collection, highly preferred
- Experience with cannabis test validation process, highly preferred
- Previous compliance experience, highly preferred
Essential Functions:
- Breaks down cured batches into multiple different weight increments and package them accordingly; adhering to owner and retail requested ratios.
- Packages products without degrading the quality, weighing it on a state certified scale to an exact weight and placing the product in the bag without damaging it.
- Analyzes potential problems with a plant or the product being processed/packed.
- Identifies problems with batches that may have been overlooked and brings these issues to their supervisors’ attention.
- Prints labels for each package and attaches them to the bag.
- Adapts to various strains, styles and types of marijuana they are packaging; making quality control decisions as necessary.
- Prepares packaging, paperwork, and labeling for sugar trim and fresh frozen harvest batches; participates in sugar trim and fresh frozen harvest process; coordinates sugar trim and fresh frozen harvest pick-up with corresponding clients and businesses.
- Researches, evaluates and adapts to new methods, in order to meet or exceed goals, as well as quality of finished product, and usable by-product.
- Accurately enters strain, batch, package ID, weight increment and quantity information into tracking system, with minimal errors.
- Works closely with supervisors to maintain weekly inventory of packaged product and on-hand trim in the department.
- Responsible for maintaining testing validation requirements & schedule. Maintain all testing records as required by the sampling procedure. Maintain potency, Microbial, contaminant, pesticide & water activity testing as required by regulations.
- Identify retail needs based on store inventory levels and prioritize packaging based on the warehouse's current cured inventory. This includes communicating with stores through phone or email.
- Ensures accuracy of manifested product from licensed facility.
- Delivers product to retail locations. Delivers and picks up test samples, various supplies, and laundry as requested per supervisor.
- Assist the trim crew by; Creating a spreadsheet for the day of the harvest & enter all waste into METRC when needed
- Manages their time during work efficiently in order to meet goals while consistently producing quality products.
- Exhibits trustworthiness, caution, and reliability with delivery of product to store in regards to personal safety, as well as product safety.
- Follows the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with Legacy Grown and its clients’ mission, vision, goals, and objectives in all areas of their work.
- Exhibits consistent processing technique, tracking and meeting of production goals.
- Exhibits personal hygiene and follows health guidelines set forth by Legacy Grown and the state while processing/packaging inventory.
- Maintains a neat, clean, and organized work area.
- Abides by departmental safety rules.
Additional Functions:
- Other duties as assigned.
- May be required to trim when other tasks are complete.
- Assist Cultivation Department as needed and as time allows.
- Help promote the company’s vision, and goals; lead by example.
- Follow and implement COVID SOP precautions as directed in COVID SOP.
- Responsible for punctuality and attendance as assigned on the grow shift schedule is a must. The schedule for this position is M-F 8am-5pm, 1hr lunch-break.
Qualifications:
- Valid MED badge
- Basic knowledge and understanding of marijuana processing; proper technique and handling of finished product so as not to degrade the quality while packaging.
- Basic knowledge of spreadsheets and METRC in regards to store inventory, as well as creating a purchase order and entering all data correctly.
- Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations with excellent proficiency.
- Understanding and implementation of the techniques, policies, procedures and goals of Legacy Grown and its Clients.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of local, state and MED laws and statues; with an emphasis on continual knowledge and understanding.
- Fundamental knowledge, as well as the ability to be taught and guided in areas related to harvesting, drying, trimming and curing; initially focusing curing and packaging with other areas being taught as the employee shows interest while still maintaining their capabilities as a packager.
- Must work well with others and be able to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure and technique.
- Helps create a proactive and positive environment; a positive attitude and self-motivation to help produce high quality pre packed products, while meeting and/or exceeding personal and/or company goals.
- Be able to work with, help, guide, challenge, and motivate other pre pack team members in order to create a cohesive unit.
- Employee must have basic organizational capabilities, as well as be able to run basic computer tasks.
- Ability to be flexible and work in various sectors of the department as needed an/or requested by their direct supervisor; this may include but is not limited to, helping grow staff with small tasks, cleaning and/or moving supplies and equipment and/or helping the trim department as needed.
- Employee must be able to follow basic instructions as well as be able to take constructive criticism from their managers so they can help maintain quality standards and production goals.
- Show self-motivation/innovation and the ability to work well with all members of their staff and the company, as well as with their direct supervisor.
- Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences, especially with the direct supervisors and other team members.

Additional Requirements:
- Colorado driver’s license or State ID card
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must pass motor vehicle history check annually and remain eligible to drive per Legacy Grown Driving Policy.
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must obtain and retain a state-issued occupational license.
- Must complete internal WPS training upon hire, annually thereafter.
- Must complete internal training to perform Designated Test Batch Collector duties upon hire, annually thereafter.
- Quarterly METRC training, required.
- Must have a vehicle registered in the state of Colorado, with valid insurance.
- Ability to speak and read English, preferred
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School Education or GED graduate; some college or college graduate preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience processing medical or recreational marijuana or other botanicals, preferred.
- Must be proficient in Excel Spreadsheet use
- Previous experience in packaging or tracking shipped/received products.
- Knowledge and/or experience in retail sales of medical marijuana, preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while maintaining focus.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance) AND must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with plants and products.
- Work environment while performing duties includes working under HID lights, high humidity levels, fluctuating temperatures, and exposure to cannabis plants.
