We are a Tier-3 Cannabis Producer/Processor in South Seattle. Our mission is to provide some of the most consistent, safe, high-quality cannabis and extracts in Washington state. We are a small company with a strong presence, and right now we're looking to add an experienced Cultivation Manager to our team!
Position Summary:
The Cultivation Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations in cultivation including processes and procedures within propagation, vegetation, flowering cycles, and the pre-harvest phase. The Cultivation Manager will provide oversight of all Cultivation Associates; ensuring that the facility is safe and compliant at all times, and that all processes, training requirements, schedules, policies and procedures are followed, and cultivation production goals are met. The Cultivation Manager, in different but specific ways, is responsible for implementing best practices in propagation, vegetation, flowering, irrigation, IPM, post-harvest, quality control, inventory, testing, transport, facility maintenance, sanitization, record retention, and plant waste disposal.

Responsibilities:
- Manage a large-scale indoor cultivation facility and supervise all aspects of the cultivation process life-cycle from clone to harvest
- Manage cultivation teams daily task and overarching goals, providing continuous training to all cultivation team members.
- Manage plant scheduling to accurately project all garden requirements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to maximize high-quality yield with efficiency and attention to production costs.
- Develops methods to monitor and measure department activity to identify areas of success and areas of opportunity to control production efficiency, manufacturing variances, material waste, labor expense and other indicators of profitability.
- Perform all cultivation tracking and record-keeping functions within the seed to sale electronic system remaining in compliance with the department's rules and regulations.
- Ensure needs of plants are being met at all times, overseeing the daily activities relating to proper light intensity and positions, irrigation, fertilization, transplanting, plant maintenance, sanitation and equipment functionality.
- Adept at industry best-practices and current on new techniques and insight with respect to nutrient of individual strains, high yield recipes, controlled stress environments to different lighting systems and set ups.
- Identify nutrient deficiencies and environmental problems, providing and implementing immediate solutions, and tracking and analyzing the outcome of those solutions.
- Conduct routine inspection of plants and scout for early signs of pest, disease, environmental and nutrient issues. Immediately identifying and resolving problems.
- Ensures operational compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in the areas of safety, product safety, compliance, employment, quality, and good manufacturing practices.
- Drives consistency across all operations including materials, procedures, and staff training. Refines procedures and protocols based on best crop management practices.
- Maintain vendor relations, manage supply inventory and generate purchase orders to submit to Director of Operations
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and traceability of plants, including plant counts, both physically and in traceability system/s, and correcting plant inventory discrepancies immediately
- Provide cultivation expertise to manage and align production methods and processes to meet market demands and forecasts.
- Develops and implement contingency plans to address unexpected challenges.
- Review, edit and/or write SOPs for Cultivation Systems and Process. Ensure they are adhered to.
- Collaborate with Facilities Manager to update SOPs in identifying and addressing plant-specific issues, environmental issues and climate control, and coordinating the harvesting of plants
- Facilitate proper equipment calibration and maintenance
- Communication & Coordination: Assure timely and relevant communications to and from all levels.This includes assuring communications between affected reporting areas and to related departments.
Required Experience, Education and Skills:
- Minimum 2+ years cannabis cultivation experience
- Certification(s)/Education or minimum 2+ years related work experience in agricultural, horticultural, or botanical practices.
- Proven experience in managing crops and production is required.
- Previous experience with inventory software, Excel, and Office Products
Minimum Qualifications:
- All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum 2+ years experience managing product, staff and resources in a large-scale commercial greenhouse or agricultural operation (preferred).
- Knowledge of cultivation techniques and processes, pesticide requirements, and anti-microbial testing.
- Knowledge of plant diseases, insects, and fungi, as well as plant treatment options.
- Demonstrated mastery of growing methods, including in-depth knowledge of macro-and micro-nutrients, beneficial bacterial and nutrient implementation.
- Sound technical understanding in growing plants as impacted by environmental conditions, nutritional profile, seasonal changes and cleanliness.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve manufacturing objectives in terms of volume, product mix, cost and quality.
- Must have excellent attendance and professionalism.
- Demonstrated personnel management experience. Ability to work effectively as a team player, proactive and desire to improve.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation.
- Prior I-502 traceability systems experience such as Leaf Data, GrowFlow, Green Bits, MisterKraken, BioTrack (preferred).
- Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently.
- Must be willing and able to follow Standard Operating Procedures accurately.
- Must be Detail-Oriented. We're in a highly-regulated industry and getting things right is essential.
Other Requirements:
- The job requires physical activity, including prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting or moving up to 40lbs (or more with a coworker). Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive motions with accuracy is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
