Job Description: The Cultivation Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the cultivation activities for the site. The subject matter expert for the
cannabis plant growth to harvest. The Cultivation Manager will work closely with the VP of Cultivation to create policies and procedures to oversee daily operations for the cultivation center. Responsible for a group of cultivation technicians for the grow and overall responsible for their work. This work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as the state and local regulations required to ensure a safe and clean working environment and condition of the cultivation center. Job Responsibilities: Manage the day to day operations of an indoor grow operation with primary supervisory responsibilities overseeing all aspects of cultivation through harvest
Studying cannabis plants in order to develop better planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improve crop yield, and solve problems faced in cultivation
Primary owner of the mother, clone and veg rooms
System administrator for the grow system software(s) that monitor plant performance and growth, organize technician’s daily tasks and ensure plant traceability through Metrc
Oversee the cultivation procedures and nutrient protocols keeping accurate records and presenting the results in a timely manner to the appropriate executives
Assisting with the strain selection process and the development of planting and schedules, budgets, and timelines
Responsible for scheduling, coaching and developing of all cultivation technicians and instilling the company culture to the workforce
Develop and follow company cultivation methods, and work closely with the rest of the cultivation department to develop and improve processes and supervise all harvest activities
Ensure proper training and development of employees and prepare weekly employee time and payroll
Recognize, acknowledge, problem solve and escalate plant related issues in regards to cultivation and processing
Schedule preventative maintenance to ensure the highest quality yields without loss to fungus, disease and mold etc.
Implement verification activities to ensure policies and procedures are followed per the applicable grow plans
Lead and organize the harvest activities with the ‘all hands on deck’ attitude
Comply to all GMP & GLP requirements for each room on the compound
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skills, Knowledge, Experience - REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field (Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Bio)
Certified pesticide applicator license or experience preferred
EXPERIENCE:
In depth knowledge of State Cannabis Laws and Regulations
3+ years commercial agriculture experience in a medium to large scale operation
Previous supervisory experience is preferred
Experience with various grow mediums and irrigation methods for indoor operations
Experienced team leader with a positive attitude and vision for the future
Knowledge of crop management and commercial agriculture
Knowledge of plant diseases, pests and health
SKILLS:
Must have ability to develop and foster strong relationships throughout the levels of the organization
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive, can do attitude.
Good mathematical and statistical skills required.
Must be able to handle multiple assignments in high volume with tight deadlines
Capable of handling confidential information discreetly and professionally
Must be precise, accurate and well organized
Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities
Must be able to perform in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Must have good mathematical (basic statistical skills highly desired), problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proficiency with computer systems, personal computers, and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Office, etc)
Additional Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older to apply
Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
Must pass a detailed background screening
Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend, lift and move continually during working hours
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
